Repair your own radio
or buy another one?
The price of a used radio is only part of the comparison. Installation, compatibility with the car and the functions you want to keep are also important. Checking your unit will show whether a repair is possible and whether it is worth choosing.

Want to keep the factory functions
Steering wheel controls, the camera or car settings may work with the radio. Before choosing a replacement, check which of these functions you will keep. Repairing the original unit may be the way to retain the current equipment.
Someone has already recommended replacement
Send us the previous diagnosis or a description of what was checked. We will look into the possibility of repairing your model. A suggestion to replace it does not yet say what condition the unit is in or why repair was ruled out.
Compare the total cost of the service
The price of another radio may be increased by fitting and adapting it to the car. Also ask about the condition of the used unit, the warranty and the possibility of return. You will know the price of repairing your own unit before you order the work.
Another radio has the same fault
Write what unit was swapped in and whether it behaves exactly the same. If neither works, the cause may need to be checked outside the radio. Buying yet another unit without these checks may not change anything.
If repair does not make sense, we will say so
Extensive damage or a lack of required parts may rule out repair. We do not promise it before checking the equipment. We want you to be able to make a decision, knowing the possible solution and its cost.
Examples of repairs to factory units
Repair of MIB STD2 PQ – touch not working | VW, Skoda, Seat

Repair of Ford ACM module — no sound, crackling
No sound in a Ford Kuga, Escape, Ranger or Lincoln? It may be dry joints on the PCB of the Panasonic ACM module — not a radio replacement. Refurbishment 984 zł, 1-3 days, 24-month warranty.
Mercedes Logic7 amplifier repair – no sound
No sound in a Mercedes W221 or W216? The Logic7 amplifier may be to blame. See why it fails, how professional refurbishment is carried out, and why it is worth repairing rather than buying a used unit.
BMW amplifier repair – Harman Kardon, Top Hi‑Fi, Logic7 – no sound after water ingress
Water in the boot and a blown 40A fuse are a common cause of silence in the radio. Find out when repair makes sense — free diagnostics and a quote within 24h.
From Poznań to the workshop and back
01
You report the problem
Send a photo of the radio, give the model and year of the car, and describe what is not working. If you do not know the name of the unit, we will help identify it. We will tell you whether we deal with this equipment and what needs to be sent for inspection. We usually reply within 24 hours on working days.
02
You prepare the unit
Once we have established what needs to be sent, you can have the unit removed by a local workshop. Protect the screen and connectors, and pack the unit so it cannot move inside the box. Follow our guidance in the packing instructions.
03
You hand over the parcel
We can arrange a courier on request. Provide the parcel collection address and the address to which we should return the unit. If a workshop is sending it, please also agree who we should contact about the repair price.
04
You decide on the repair
We inspect the unit and provide a repair price. You decide whether to proceed. Once you approve, we repair the unit and test it before return. If anything still does not work after installation, contact us and describe the problem.
You know the cost first.
Then you decide.
Repair after quote approval
Before dispatching, we give an estimated cost. After checking the unit, we confirm the price and wait for your approval.
Decide not to go ahead? You pay nothing for diagnostics or postage
If you decide against the repair, the unit cannot be repaired, or the fault lies elsewhere, diagnostics and return postage are free.
You pay after the repair
By bank transfer before the unit is sent back, or cash on delivery on receipt. We issue a VAT invoice.
24
months' warranty for selected repairs
We provide a 12- or 24-month written warranty for the repair carried out and the parts replaced — in line with the offer for your unit.
Show the unit and describe the problem.
Repair or another radio — which should you choose? It is worth comparing not only the price of the part itself, but also what will work after fitting. A factory radio may support the camera, steering wheel buttons, car settings and a separate amplifier. If you use these functions, check whether the new unit will keep them. Before buying a replacement, you can ask us about repairing your current unit.
When is it worth asking about repairing your radio?
This conversation may help if:
- You’ve been offered a complete radio replacement
- The problem remained after the radio was swapped
- The other radio does not support all vehicle functions
- You are not sure whether the radio you found will fit
- Your radio has already been repaired before
- You want to compare the repair cost with the cost of replacement
Can't see your problem here? Describe it in your own words. We'll check whether we can help.
Does an earlier diagnosis rule out repairing the radio?
Not always. A recommendation to replace it may result from damage, lack of parts or the workshop’s capabilities. Send us a description of the tests carried out and the reason why another radio was suggested. We will check whether we repair your model. We do not promise a different result before seeing the unit, but the previous findings will help us start with the facts.
Repair is not always possible or cost-effective. Extensive board damage or missing parts may mean we cannot offer any work. In some cases we have refused repairs for this reason. That is why, before shipment, we confirm whether we work on the given unit, and after checking it we present the possible solution. You do not have to agree to a repair without knowing the price.
If the radio has already been swapped, write what the result was. Is there still no sound, or does the new unit not support some of the equipment? This is not the same situation. It helps to include the part numbers of both units and information on whether any additional settings were carried out after the replacement. These details help establish whether the problem concerns the radio itself, its compatibility or another component in the car.
Have you been offered a radio replacement? Send us the details so far
To compare repair with replacement, we need to know what failed and which unit is meant to go into the car. You do not need to buy parts just to test them. For your first message, please prepare:
- Vehicle details, a photo of the current radio and its number, if available.
- A description of the fault and the previous workshop’s diagnosis, if the unit has already been checked.
- The proposed repair or replacement and the quote you received, if you want to compare them.
- Information on whether the radio was swapped and what changed after fitting a different unit.
- The functions you want to keep, such as the camera, steering wheel controls or factory amplifier.
You do not need to know the answer to everything. Send us what you have, and we'll ask about the missing details.
How do you compare the full cost of radio repair and replacement?
Compare the price of repairing your unit with the price of a tested replacement that fits the car. For both options, add the necessary removal and installation, and for replacement also configuration, if required. Check whether the quote you were given includes these jobs, so you are not comparing the price of the part alone with the full service.
Compare the price of the unit or repair, installation, any adaptation to the car and the warranty terms. With a used part, also ask about the possibility of returning it. Add coding only when it is actually needed for the chosen unit. With the full costs of both options, it is easier to make a decision without surprises after purchase.
Before sending in the unit
Is repair always cheaper than buying another radio?
Not always. It depends on the fault and the price of a working, compatible unit. When comparing, also allow for fitting and any coding or adaptation of the radio to the car. After checking your equipment, we will give you a repair price so you can decide what is more worthwhile for you.
I found a radio with the same fascia. Will it fit?
A similar appearance is not enough. Check the full part number and compatibility with the car’s equipment. Ask the seller, among other things, about operation with the factory amplifier, camera and steering wheel controls, if you have them. Two radios with the same fascia may support different functions.
Will a diagnosis from the previous workshop be useful?
Yes. Send us the description of what was checked, the measurement results and the proposed repair. This will give us the history of the problem. We will also test the supplied radio ourselves before giving you a quote.
After the repair, will I have CarPlay or other new functions?
The repair is intended to restore the functions we agree on. Adding CarPlay or other equipment is a separate task. If that is what you want, mention it straight away — we will check whether we handle such a modification in your unit.
How do you determine the repair cost?
After the fault has been described, we give an estimated cost. We confirm the exact price after checking the unit, before we start the repair. It depends on the model and on what has failed. You decide whether you accept the proposed repair.
Who will remove the radio and reinstall it after the repair?
You can have these jobs done by a local workshop. First we will tell you which unit needs to be removed and whether any additional parts will be needed. You agree the removal and refitting price directly with the workshop. If it has already checked the problem in the car, send us its findings.
How long will the repair take?
Ask about the lead time when you submit the enquiry — it depends on the unit and the work required. We will agree when we can check it and when the repair should be completed. For mail-in repairs, please also allow for transport time both ways, as well as removing and refitting the radio.
How should the unit be prepared for transport?
Protect the screen, connectors and protruding parts. Use a rigid cardboard box and fill any empty spaces so the unit cannot move around. Pack any extra items separately so they do not knock against each other. Include the details provided when you made your enquiry. Photos and guidance can be found in the packing instructions.
