What does the repair process at OEMatic look like and how do you prepare the device for shipping

From first contact to collection of the repaired device — we describe every stage. You know what happens to your equipment, when and why. No black boxes, no surprises.

STEP 1

Contact and free initial quote

Do not send the device without contacting us first. We want to know what we are dealing with before the device reaches the workshop — so diagnosis is quicker and you know the initial cost before sending.

It is best to prepare the make, model and year of the car, plus a photo of the unit or the fault.

    STEP 2

    Sending the device

You send only the device — a radio, navigation unit or amplifier. No car, no cables, no speakers.

    Before packing, remember to:

    • Protect the device, e.g. with bubble wrap or polystyrene
    • Choose a rigid box — minimum 5-ply (double-wall), sized appropriately
    • Seal the package with packing tape or stretch wrap

Send the device by courier to:

    Device shipping address
OEMatic Tomasz Mazurkiewicz ul. Stanisława Staszica 86a
    96-500 Sochaczew

Please enclose a note with your phone number, return address and a description of the fault inside the parcel.

    STEP 3

Receipt of the device at the workshop

When the device arrives at the workshop, you will receive an SMS or email notification confirming receipt and informing you that the assessment has begun.

At this stage the device is entered into the CRM system — from then on you can track the job status online. The assessment starts on the day of receipt or the next working day.

    What happens next?

    • You will receive a notification that your device has been accepted for repair

    STEP 4

    Fault diagnosis and confirmation

The unit is placed on a dedicated test bench that simulates the vehicle installation. We connect it to the correct power supply, signal bus and test speakers — and start it up exactly as it works in the car.

    What do we check?

    • Assessment of the main board condition — signs of moisture, corrosion, power surges, mechanical damage
    • Start-up on the test bench — whether the unit powers up, how it responds, what exactly is not working
    • Functional tests — audio channels, sleep mode, current draw, communication with the system
    • For navigation — verification of eMMC/Flash memory, bootloader, operating system, GPS
    • For amplifiers — measurement of current draw in active and standby mode, test of all power channels

When we cannot confirm the fault

If the unit works correctly during testing and we cannot confirm the reported fault — we will let you know. We do not repair “just in case”. We return the unit at no cost and indicate where the problem may lie (vehicle installation, wiring loom, another module).

    When repair makes no sense

If the condition of the unit rules out a lasting repair — permanent multilayer corrosion, burnt PCB layers, previous irreversible interference — we will inform you that refurbishment has been refused. Zero inspection costs, zero return shipping costs.

    STEP 5

    Quote and your decision

Once the fault is confirmed, we will contact you — by phone or by SMS/email — with the final repair proposal.

What will you receive with the quote?

    • Information on exactly what is damaged and the scope of the repair
    • The final gross price — with no additional costs during the process
    • Estimated completion time
    • Warranty terms

    When you accept the quote

We will proceed with the repair.

If you decide not to go ahead with the repair

We return the unit at no cost for inspection and with no return shipping costs. No questions, no charges.

    STEP 6

    Electronics refurbishment

After the quote is accepted, the unit goes for repair. Refurbishment is not “getting it running for a moment” — it is the full restoration of the electronics for years of operation.

    What will we do?

    • Repair of detected damage
    • Preventive replacement of susceptible components
    • Cleaning and protection
    • Post-refurbishment testing

    STEP 7

    Return shipping, invoice and warranty

When the unit passes the tests — we pack it and send it back by courier.

That’s it! You receive from us

    • Safely packed repaired unit
    • Written warranty – period and scope in line with the accepted offer
    • VAT invoice
