The radio or navigation lock usually appears after the battery has been disconnected, a module has been replaced, or the car has been bought. Identify the symptom, and we will confirm the unlocking method after checking the unit.

The display shows “CODE”
The radio is waiting for a security code, for example after the battery has been replaced

The message “System has been locked. Contact your dealer”
Lock after incorrect codes; further attempts may make it permanent

Password prompt screen “Enter Password”

The radio asks for a PIN after the battery has been disconnected
After power is restored, the unit asks for a security code

The radio blocks functions after a module is replaced
The unit does not work fully without the correct PIN code

No code after buying a car or a used radio
The previous owner did not provide the code card

The radio requires a code after a software update
After new firmware is installed, the unit may ask for the code again

What unlocking a
radio and navigation system involves
We restore access without replacement
For a blocked radio or navigation system, we determine whether the code can be read, the lock reset, or access to the factory unit restored. We do not replace it with a used module unless necessary.
We identify the correct module
Before starting work, we identify the unit by the label, part number and the message on the screen. Based on this, we determine whether a PIN read-out or a counter reset is needed.
We return the unit ready for fitting
After unlocking, we check the functions covered by the service on a test bench and secure the equipment for transport. You receive details of what was done and a VAT invoice.
Unlocking or buying another radio?
With a code lock, replacing the radio at an authorised dealer may require matching the version and coding, and a used module has an unknown history. The comparison shows what you keep when we unlock your factory unit.

How does mail-in repair work
step by step?
You do not need to bring the vehicle in. Describe the problem and we will help you work out what to remove and send. After inspection, you will receive a quote for approval — only then will we start work.
01
Describe the problem and show the device
Write what is happening in the vehicle, state the make, model and year. Add a photo of the device, the error screen or the nameplate sticker, if you have one. On that basis, we will initially assess whether we can help.
02
We will help you work out what to send
Not sure whether to remove the radio, screen, amplifier or another unit? We will advise which component to check, how to prepare it for shipping and how to pack the parcel safely.
03
We confirm the fault and quote for the work
In the workshop we carry out diagnostics, confirm the source of the problem and define the scope of work. We send a quote for approval. We only start work after your approval.
04
We repair, test and return
We remove the cause of the fault, test the device and send it back safely packed for refitting. Every repair we carry out is covered by a warranty.
We rescue even the most difficult cases.

Unlocking a radio or navigation system starts with establishing whether the problem is a PIN, a lockout after incorrect attempts, data loss or an electronic fault. The first steps depend on the model of the unit, the message shown on the screen and whether the equipment starts after a power loss. This matters because further random attempts can extend the lockout, so it is better to stop entering codes until the unit and message have been identified. In practice, we verify the specific OEM unit, i.e. the manufacturer’s factory module, by part number, label and response at startup, rather than by the message alone.
What symptoms may indicate that a radio or navigation system needs unlocking?
A need for unlocking may be indicated by a code request, an active lockout or the unit failing to start properly after a power loss, but the meaning of these symptoms depends on the model, the wording of the message and the circumstances of the fault. After disconnecting the battery, the radio may ask for a PIN, but it may also reveal corrupted memory data. After fitting a used unit, the problem may be not only the code, but also pairing with the car or a version mismatch.
The exact message and the unit’s behaviour on startup are important. Signs that unlocking or a lockout check may be needed include:
- a PIN request message after disconnecting the battery,
- a lockout after previous incorrect code attempts,
- no code entry field despite the unit being switched on,
- a wrong password message or an active system lockout,
- only some functions starting after replacing a used module,
- a complete failure to start after a power loss.
If the unit does not start at all, recovering the PIN alone may not restore operation. In that case the power supply, memory and main board need to be checked. The same applies to resets, freezing or no sound, where unlocking may only be part of the repair.
Unlocking process: step by step
The unlocking process starts with identifying the exact version of the unit and confirming what has actually been locked. A photo of the label, the message text and a description of the circumstances allow us to prepare a free initial quote; with a complete enquiry, response time can be around 24 working hours. The removed OEM unit is sent in for checking, as we inspect the unit on a test bench rather than in the car.
After receiving the parcel, we test the unit on a test bench, checking its startup, power supply, memory and response on power-up. On that basis we confirm whether the problem concerns the code, a lockout, data loss or an electronic fault. The time needed for diagnosis and price confirmation depends, among other things, on whether the unit starts on the bench or requires additional tests of memory, power supply or lockout after incorrect attempts.
After diagnosis, we provide the cost for approval. Only after you agree do we carry out the actual unlocking or repair. If the data are consistent, code reading or lockout reset is possible, and if the memory is corrupted or the unit fails to start, the scope of work may include repair of the memory, power section or other circuits needed for operation.
Before dispatch, we test the unit and the functions covered by the enquiry. The written warranty period depends on the scope of repair.
What should you prepare before sending your radio or navigation unit to the workshop?
Before sending it, prepare a photo of the label, the exact message shown on the screen and a brief description of the circumstances of the fault. This helps distinguish a missing code from a lockout after failed attempts, data loss or a start-up problem. It also matters for the workshop whether the symptom appeared after disconnecting the battery, replacing a module, flooding or a power surge.
For an initial assessment, it is best to prepare a few specific details and materials:
- a photo of the label with the part number and device markings,
- a photo of the screen with the message, or a description of what appears after switching on,
- information on whether the device has been disconnected from power before,
- a description of any previous attempts to enter the code, if any were made,
- car details needed to identify the configuration,
- information on whether the problem concerns only the lockout, or also restarts, no sound or no start-up.
Do not enter any more random codes before sending it. This can increase the attempt counter and extend the lockout. If the unit does not start at all, note this straight away in your enquiry.
Why is it worth repairing original OEM units?
Repairing the original OEM unit makes sense when the problem concerns a lockout, memory data or the electronics needed for start-up. You keep your own unit, whose history is known and which was part of the car's factory system. This reduces the risk of buying a used module with a different hardware version, different software or an additional lockout.
A similar symptom after replacing a module does not yet mean that a used unit will be a simpler solution than repairing your own. After fitting another unit, the problem is often not only the code, but also pairing with the car or lack of configuration compatibility. Even a correctly unlocked unit may need further adaptation after installation.
In some cases, for example with extensive memory or board damage or the effects of flooding, replacement may prove justified, but the decision should be preceded by diagnostics of the specific unit. The service concerns factory OEM units, not Android replacements. After the repair, the unit is tested before being sent back, and the warranty period depends on the type of fault removed.
Frequently asked questions
and answers
Key information about diagnostics, shipping, quoting and repair of an OEM factory unit.
Do I need to bring the radio to Sochaczew?
You do not need to come in the car. You can send the removed unit by courier from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person to the workshop in Sochaczew by prior arrangement.
Can you help if I bought a car without the PIN code?
Yes, if it concerns the selected OEM factory radio or navigation system. Send the car details, a photo of the screen with the message and a photo of the nameplate label, and we will assess the possibility of restoring access.
Should I enter more codes before submitting a request?
We do not recommend random attempts when the code is not certain. Describe the message on the screen and the number of attempts made, if you know it, and we will determine the next steps after identifying the unit.
Do I need to know the exact radio or navigation model?
No. Please give us the car make, model and year, and include a photo of the front panel and the unit’s rating label. We’ll ask for the part number if it is needed.
Do you unlock non-factory Android radios?
We do not repair replacements fitted instead of factory units, including Android radio-navigation units. If you are not sure, send a photo of the label; factory modules have the manufacturer’s logo and part number.
How do I pay for the service, and will I get an invoice?
You can pay by bank transfer before the unit is sent back, or choose cash on delivery. We issue a VAT invoice.
