Devices we repair
Repairing OEM radio and navigation by car make starts with understanding how the system works with the rest of the vehicle. The same symptom can have different causes: from power supply, through communication, to a lockout after a module replacement or an amplifier fault. That is why, based on the unit sent in, photos and description, the module electronics and the possible link between the symptom and the car configuration are assessed. This matters with a black screen, no sound, logo restarts and a code request after disconnecting the battery, because in practice it is crucial to separate a unit fault from a configuration or compatibility issue after installation in the car.
What are the typical symptoms of OEM radio and navigation problems?
Typical symptoms include not starting, a black screen, restarts, freezing and no sound. In practice, the symptom alone does not yet determine whether the source of the problem is the radio, the screen, the amplifier or a lockout after a power change. That is why it is also important whether the buttons work, whether there is sound and whether the problem appeared after a module replacement.
Some faults look similar, but lead to different diagnostic conclusions. Symptoms that may indicate a problem with an OEM, i.e. factory, radio or navigation system include:
- the radio does not switch on or stops at the logo,
- the screen stays black despite button response or sound,
- the system freezes, resets or runs unstably,
- sound disappears, one channel is silent or crackling appears,
- there is a problem with the map or with launching the navigation function,
- the unit has a communication problem with the car,
- after disconnecting the battery or replacing a module, a code request or a function lock appears.
Advantages of repairing factory units compared with replacement units
Repairing the factory unit has the advantage when the system is integrated with the car. The original unit remains compatible with the screen, amplifier, reversing camera and vehicle communication — in other words, with the electronics that are meant to work together, so after repair we are not adding another unknown variable.
Swapping in another module can make it harder to determine whether the source of the problem is the electronics, the configuration or the module compatibility itself. Even a working used radio may ask for a code after installation, require adaptation — that is, matching it to the car — or remain locked. Simply getting the unit to power up on the bench does not yet confirm that everything will work fully correctly once fitted in the car.
That is why repairing the original unit is often more sensible than replacing it blindly. OEMatic only accepts original OEM factory units for repair.
The diagnostic and repair process for radios and navigation systems in Sochaczew
The process starts with an initial assessment based on the symptom description, photos and vehicle details. This makes it possible to distinguish between no power, display fault, no audio and a lock after module replacement. A free initial quote based on photos and a description is prepared within around 24 hours, and the unit is only sent after it has been approved. The removed module is sent to the workshop in Sochaczew — because the unit itself is checked, not the whole car.
After the parcel is received, an expert assessment of the unit is carried out to confirm the type of fault and the scope of repair. Depending on the model, symptom and condition of the module, this may include functional testing and inspection of the electronics. The assessment takes approximately 1–5 working days from receipt of the parcel, depending on the type of fault, the unit model and the extent of the assessment required.
The key point is to determine whether the problem lies in the unit's electronics or in compatibility with the car after installation. This matters in the case of a code request, a lock, coding or compatibility after module replacement. Work only starts once the cost has been approved, and before being returned the unit undergoes a final test, and the repair completed receives a written warranty depending on the type of repair. If testing the sent unit does not confirm a fault in the module, it may mean that the cause lies outside the sent unit and needs to be checked on the car side.
What information should you prepare for the initial quote?
A good enquiry shortens diagnostics, because it allows the symptom to be linked straight away to the architecture of the given make. A photo of the label, the fault history and information about any previous repair all help with diagnostics. Before submitting your enquiry, prepare:
- the car make, model and year,
- a precise description of the symptom and when it first appeared,
- a photo of the unit label and a photo of the error message,
- information on whether the problem appeared after disconnecting the battery or replacing a module,
- details of flooding, jump-starting, a power surge or a failed update,
- information on whether the unit has already been opened or repaired.
The unit should be removed locally before shipping, as the workshop does not remove it from the car. Do not make multiple random attempts to enter the code and do not omit information about flooding, a power surge or previous soldering. Such details change the diagnostic path and help assess whether adaptation or unlocking may be needed after repair. We accept original OEM factory units for repair, not Android replacements.
Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of factory radios, navigation systems and amplifiers: enquiry, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair radio, navigation and amplifier units from cars of different brands?
Yes, we work on factory OEM radios, navigation units and amplifiers from cars of many brands. We check the supplied removed module and assess whether the fault lies with the unit or its compatibility with the car.
Is repairing factory audio more worthwhile than replacing the module?
Repairing the original unit keeps it compatible with the screen, amplifier, camera and car controls. A used module may be working, yet after installation it can ask for a code, require adaptation or block functions.
How do you price repairs for modules from cars of different brands?
Before sending it, you provide the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and photos of the unit and sticker. Based on this, we give an approximate quote, and confirm the final price after checking the module and with your approval.
How do you send a car module to the workshop?
You do not need to bring the car; we only receive the removed module, which you can send from anywhere in Poland or deliver by appointment. Removal and refitting are arranged with a workshop, and we check the unit delivered to us.
What should you prepare before reporting a fault with an OEM radio or navigation unit?
Prepare the car make, model and year, a brief description of the symptoms, and a photo of the front panel or unit and the rating label. You do not need to know the exact name of the radio; if we need the number from the label, we will ask for it.
