Radio repair, navigation and Audi amplifiers concerns factory modules that may stop starting, lose sound or lose communication with the car. This includes radios — the central system modules — navigation modules and Bose amplifiers and Bang & Olufsen. The aim of the service is to repair the original module and test it before return; the workshop assesses the removed unit, not the car’s installation. If there is no sound in the MIB system or the amplifier has been flooded, a single cause is not assumed straight away. The service covers only OEM equipment, i.e. factory-fit, not Android replacements.

What symptoms may indicate a fault in the radio, navigation or amplifier in Audi?

A fault may be indicated by no sound, crackling, a black screen, freezing on the logo or the system restarting by itself. This set of symptoms does not yet determine whether the main unit, navigation or amplifier is faulty. Even if the screen and controls work, the problem may still lie in the audio path, that is the part responsible for sound, in the power supply or in communication between modules.

It also helps to describe exactly when the fault appears. A no-start after a flat battery is interpreted differently from a symptom that appeared after flooding or after fitting a part from another car. A module fault may be indicated by:

  • no sound despite the screen working and the buttons responding,
  • individual crackles, channel dropouts or muting after start-up,
  • a black screen, freezing on the logo or a restart loop,
  • no start after an update, a flat battery or contact with moisture.

How are Audi modules diagnosed and repaired?

The initial assessment depends on identifying the specific module from the part number, system version and symptom description. A photo of the label and information on whether the car has Bose or Bang & Olufsen can also be helpful. You should also note whether the problem appeared after a flat battery, flooding, an update or a previous repair. Based on that, a free initial quote is prepared before the module is sent.

Once we receive the removed unit, we carry out an off-car assessment, i.e. testing outside the vehicle, confirm the cause and cost, and work only starts after approval. Only the module itself is checked, not the whole car. If the electronics work properly outside the car, the installation and the remaining systems should be checked by a local mechanic or auto electrician.

The scope of the repair is determined after diagnosing the removed module, i.e. after checking its condition, and after the cost is approved. If the unit has been swapped or comes from another car, it is worth mentioning this before the quote; the workshop will then assess the removed module in the proper context. After the repair, the unit is tested before return and comes with a written warranty, depending on the extent of the fault.

What should you prepare before sending the radio for repair?

Before sending it, prepare the details that will allow the symptom to be linked to a specific module. The description “the radio does not work” is simply not enough, because the radio, navigation or Bose or Bang & Olufsen amplifier can behave in a similar way. A short fault history also helps, because no sound after an update is assessed differently from no sound after flooding. It is best to include with the request:

  • the Audi model and year, and information on the audio equipment,
  • the part number from the label photo,
  • a step-by-step description of the symptom, from switching on the ignition to the problem appearing,
  • a photo of the screen, message or the unit itself,
  • information on whether the problem appeared after a flat battery, update, flooding or a previous repair,
  • information on whether the unit has been replaced or came from another car,
  • if possible, the fault codes read out relating to MOST, CAN, the amplifier, power supply or memory.

If the module has come into contact with liquid or stopped working after a short circuit, note this in the enquiry and wait for the workshop's initial assessment before attempting to power it up again.

When is it worth opting for repair, and when for replacing the equipment?

Repair is the right choice when the original module is compatible with the car and the problem concerns its electronics, memory or data. That way, the same module returns to the screen, steering wheel controls and factory audio system, without introducing another unknown.

A used part does not settle the matter on its own. If the unit has been replaced or came from another car, it is worth mentioning this before quote; the workshop will assess the removed module. This matters with MIB, navigation and the amplifier when comparing repair of your own module with buying another part.

A decision on whether repair is worthwhile or whether replacement is needed is made after the unit has been examined. Before buying another part, the part number and compatibility with the car must be compared.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of Audi radios, navigation systems and amplifiers: enquiry, sending in the module and quote.

Do you repair Audi factory radio, navigation and amplifier systems?

Yes, we service Audi factory audio and navigation modules, including main units and Bose and Bang & Olufsen amplifiers. We do not repair replacement units fitted instead of the original, for example Android units.

Is it worth repairing an Audi module instead of replacing it?

The repair is carried out on your original module, so there is no need to match another unit to the screen, steering wheel controls or factory sound system. After reviewing the symptoms, we assess whether your module is suitable for repair.

How will I get a price quote for Audi unit repair?

Before sending it, please send a description of the symptoms and photos of the unit, panel and type label. Based on that, we provide an estimated quote, and we confirm the exact price after checking the module.

Do I need to bring the Audi in, or is it enough to send the module?

You do not need to bring the car, because we check the removed unit. Mail-in repair is available from anywhere in Poland, and you can also bring the module to Sochaczew in person by prior arrangement.

What should I prepare before booking an Audi repair?

Prepare the Audi model and year, a description of the symptoms and a photo of the unit or panel and the type label. You do not need to know the radio name; we will ask for any additional details if needed.
