What does
OEM unit repair involve?
We repair factory radios
Instead of choosing a new unit, we look for the cause of the fault in your factory radio or audio module. We tailor the scope of work to the symptom, part number and hardware version.
Diagnosis of the removed module
We test the supplied unit on a test bench, without measurements in the car. If the symptoms point to the vehicle wiring, please have it checked by a local workshop.
Working radio ready for installation
After the repair, we test the functions covered by the request and secure the equipment for transport. You receive the repaired module for refitting and a warranty for the work carried out.
Repair the radio or buy another one?
A new radio from an authorised dealer requires the correct version, while a used one from the market may have an unknown history and need coding. Repairing your module preserves the factory fit and lets you check operation after the work has been completed.

| Fitment to the vehicle | requires the correct version | uncertain | original unit retained |
| Unit history | new unit | usually unknown | known history of the unit from the vehicle |
| Additional coding | may be required | often required | depends on the scope of repair |
| Function check | according to the supplier’s procedure | uncertain | test after the completed repair |

How does mail-in repair work
step by step?
You do not need to bring the vehicle in. Describe the problem and we will help you work out what to remove and send. After inspection, you will receive a quote for approval — only then will we start work.
01
Describe the problem and show the device
Write what is happening in the vehicle, state the make, model and year. Add a photo of the device, the error screen or the nameplate sticker, if you have one. On that basis, we will initially assess whether we can help.
02
We will help you work out what to send
Not sure whether to remove the radio, screen, amplifier or another unit? We will advise which component to check, how to prepare it for shipping and how to pack the parcel safely.
03
We confirm the fault and quote for the work
In the workshop we carry out diagnostics, confirm the source of the problem and define the scope of work. We send a quote for approval. We only start work after your approval.
04
We repair, test and return
We remove the cause of the fault, test the device and send it back safely packed for refitting. Every repair we carry out is covered by a warranty.
We rescue even the most difficult cases.

Repair of Comand NTG2 Mercedes – freezes on the logo? How we refurbish it
Do you want Comand NTG2 to last a long time and work properly? The only solution for you is a thorough refurbishment of the Mercedes navigation system.
Factory car radio repair involves determining whether the problem lies in the OEM unit itself, the linked screen, the amplifier or communication between modules. Different OEM units can produce different symptoms — for example, touch not working in MIB STD2 PQ or a freeze on the logo in Comand NTG2 — but the cause needs to be confirmed in diagnostics. The same symptom does not automatically indicate the same cause, so it makes sense to repair a confirmed fault rather than randomly replacing the entire set. In different OEM units, the source of the problem may be memory, the audio path, the panel, power supply or communication — the scope is confirmed only by expert assessment, which is why below you will find a short explanation of how to read the symptoms and what to expect from diagnosis of the original unit.
How do you recognise the symptoms of a factory car radio fault?
A fault may be indicated by loss of stable start-up, sound, picture, touch or radio communication with the rest of the system. If after disconnecting the battery the unit stops on the logo, asks for a code or only works partly, memory and configuration are also suspected, and if it is code-locked the solution may be radio unlocking. Lack of sound does not have to mean the radio itself is faulty — the unit and the cooperating modules remain to be checked, for example the factory amplifier. If that is the cause, see car amplifier repair. Signs of a fault in the unit or a cooperating module may include:
- the radio starts up and then returns to the start screen,
- the screen lights up, but there is no sound or crackling appears,
- touch works only partly or not at all, as with MIB STD2 PQ faults,
- the unit freezes on the logo and does not finish starting up,
- after a power loss, a lockout, configuration error or loss of some functions appears.
A fault is best described by the moment it appears, not only by the final effect. A restart after a few minutes of operation is read differently from image loss after warming up, and differently again from no response from the panel from the very first start-up. If the removed radio works correctly after testing, the vehicle wiring should be assessed by a local mechanic or auto electrician.
How does diagnosis and repair of a faulty radio work?
Diagnosis begins by identifying the unit variant, because the repair concerns factory OEM units, i.e. original modules, not Android replacements. For verification, send the removed unit, not the whole car, so a photo of the label and a precise description of the symptoms are important. It also helps to know whether the issue appeared after a flat battery, flooding, a power surge or a previous repair attempt. This makes it possible to determine whether only the radio, the panel, the screen or the factory amplifier needs to be analysed.
Once the module is received, the workshop runs it on a test bench and checks whether the fault lies in the electronics, memory, audio path, panel or communication. The cost is confirmed only after inspection, and any coding required after installation is included in the quote before work begins. If the source of the fault turns out to be a damaged circuit or memory data, the repair focuses on that exact area, without randomly replacing working parts.
After the cause has been removed, all functions affected by the fault are tested, and the unit is returned for installation with a written warranty, depending on the scope of work. If the condition of the board after flooding, a power surge or unsuccessful interference goes beyond repair, the customer receives clear information about the limits of any further action.
What should you prepare before sending the radio to the workshop?
Prepare the details that will link the symptom to the correct module and its variant. The description “the radio doesn’t work” is not enough, because power supply, memory and communication faults can look similar. It also matters whether the system has a separate screen or amplifier, because then another component may be needed for verification. The more precisely the start of the fault is described, the easier it is to classify the case.
It also helps to provide material showing the unit and how it behaved before removal. Before submitting the job, prepare:
- the make, model and year of the vehicle,
- a photo of the front of the unit and the label with the part number,
- a description of when the symptom appears — immediately after start-up, after heating up or after disconnecting the battery,
- information on whether the system has a separate screen, amplifier, camera, navigation or steering wheel controls,
- notice of flooding, a power surge or a previous repair attempt,
- a photo of the error message or a short video if the symptom can be recorded.
When is it worth choosing repair rather than replacing the radio?
Repair is the right choice when the original unit remains compatible with the vehicle’s equipment and the problem concerns the module itself. This applies to faults in the electronics, memory, panel, display or audio path. This approach keeps compatibility with the screen, steering wheel controls and system configuration.
Replacement becomes the more sensible option when the board is extensively burnt, liquid corrosion has spread over a larger area, or the laminate — that is, the board’s supporting layer — has been damaged by previous interference. A used module does not confirm the cause of the fault and may require matching or coding. That is why the final decision depends on the condition of the original unit, not just the symptom itself.
Frequently asked questions
and answers
Key information about diagnostics, shipping, quoting and repair of an OEM factory unit.
Do I need to bring the car to Sochaczew?
You do not need to come by car. You can send the removed module by courier from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person to the workshop in Sochaczew by prior arrangement.
I do not know the radio model — can I request a repair?
Yes, you do not need to know the radio model name. Give us the car make, model and year, describe the symptoms and send a photo of the unit, the panel and the rating label, and we will ask for the part number if it is needed.
Do you repair non-factory Android radios?
We do not repair aftermarket replacements fitted instead of factory units, including Android radio-navigation systems. You can recognise a factory radio by the sticker with the manufacturer logo and part number, so please send a photo of it before removal.
No sound — should I send the radio or the amplifier?
We determine that before removal, based on the symptoms and the vehicle details. If it is not possible to separate a fault in the radio from the amplifier, we may ask for both units so we can check communication between the modules.
Will you check the power supply and wiring in my car?
We check the supplied removed module, not the whole car. Please have a local workshop carry out power supply and wiring measurements, as well as removal and refitting.
How can I pay for the radio repair?
Payment is possible by bank transfer before the unit is returned, or cash on delivery. We can issue a VAT invoice for the service.
