Which models does this article apply to?

The USB / CarPlay / Android Auto repair offer below applies only to the factory-fitted Toyota Touch 2 system (model ATI1602) installed in selected models from 2017 – 2022.

How do you identify model ATI1602?

  • Your car is a Toyota Corolla, CH-R or RAV4.
  • The radio model according to the manufacturer (Panasonic) is CV-RS19E1AE.
  • The part number begins with 86140-…… for example 86140‑0K330, 86140-02D40, 86140-02D41.
  • The display is a 7″ screen with two knobs (Power / Volume on the left and Tune / Scroll on the right).
  • The common name is Toyota Touch 2

Typical symptoms of a faulty CarPlay / Android Auto function

Now that you know the problem is most likely not the cable, check whether your radio shows any of the classic symptoms below. These are the descriptions customers most often bring to us:

  • The USB function on the radio display is inactive.
  • The phone shows that it is charging for a second, then stops, and the situation repeats.
  • No option to select the USB connection mode (e.g. “charging only” or “data transfer”).
  • CarPlay does not start automatically when the phone is connected

Why does the USB socket not work?

From our experience, in 99% of cases the fault with non-working CarPlay or Android Auto is a hardware fault on the radio main board. Only in 1% of cases is the software to blame.

Most common causes of hardware faults

  • Electrical damage: voltage surges in the vehicle’s electrical system can permanently damage the circuits responsible for the USB port on the radio main board.
Starting the car from a booster (flat battery) can cause this kind of fault!
  • Mechanical damage: the USB socket on the rear of the radio may be damaged (cracked, broken off) during attempts to remove the radio.

Standard repair procedure for Toyota Touch 2 ATI1602

A complete refurbishment in 99% of cases costs 1476 zł incl. VAT, and the service takes 1–3 working days. We know customers often compare this price with used radios from auction sites. However, it is worth remembering that our service is not just a repair, but above all guaranteed operation confirmed by a 12-month warranty.
Something no seller of a used part with an unknown history and unknown condition can offer.

The repair process is the same as, for example, for the Hilux radio that hangs on the logo.

The repair does not change the unit’s coding, nor does it need to be programmed or added after installation in any way.
