The first MIB, or Modular Infotainment Platform, started being fitted in cars in 2014. The units can be divided by functions and capabilities into models such as Amundsen, Bolero, Columbus, Composition Colour, Composition Media, Discover PRO and Easy Connect. There are several manufacturers: Becker, Technisat, LG and Panasonic. These units can be found in Audi, VW, Skoda and Seat. Due to the range of different faults and models, we are starting with the topic repair of MIB1 Discover PRO navigation. We will progressively try to describe the problems we encounter when servicing these units.
Discover PRO is the top unit – the display is separate and the main unit is in the passenger glovebox.

Typical faults in these devices include:
- freezing on the startup logo,
- mechanical problems, e.g. a shattered display,
- software damage. There are drive faults and SD card reader faults.
If your MIB is showing any usability issues, please contact us directly and we will do our best to help with the repair.
