Repair of Zenec 3810 radio

Has your Zenec navigation unit worked properly until you tried to load a newer software version? Unfortunately, if the internal nand memory is faulty, the update attempt ends with the unit freezing. What is more, the only thing you see on the screen is the message “Update failed! No more space for upgrade!„. Bringing your Zenec radio back to life involves reprogramming the nand memory chip from scratch. Below is a short description of another service for Zenec navigation units.

Infected models

The memory fault affects a number of Zenec navigation units from the NC series. Example models include:

  • Zenec ZE-NC2010
  • Zenec ZE-NC2040
  • Zenec ZE-NC3810
  • Zenec ZE-NC5010

Although it is impossible to list every version, the repair process is the same.

If you have the Zenec ZE-NC2010 model, see also our guide on why the code 0000 does not work and how to fix it.

No radio code

If you do not have the original code for the unit, you do not need to worry. During the memory repair, which stores the unit’s software, the problem with any lockout will disappear. The next step after the repair is completed is a bench test of the unit. We will verify that it works correctly by checking the touchscreen panel and the CD drive.

Correct radio software update

The final stage of the repair process is the software update. What was not possible before now goes through without any problems or errors. Your navigation unit will receive the latest possible software version released by Zenec.

Update map

Repairing the NAND memory does not affect the map version. The navigation coverage and database condition will remain exactly as they were originally in the unit.
