Is the screen working, but there is no sound from the speakers? We repair ACM Panasonic modules from Ford and Lincoln vehicles. We help with no sound, crackling and problems selecting the audio source. Check your unit number and describe the symptoms to us.
Quick repair quote
The ACM is a radio and amplifier module working with the SYNC system. It is found, among others, in the Ford Kuga II, Escape and Ranger, as well as in selected Lincolns. Versions differ in equipment, so we need the full number from the label to identify it — the car model alone is not enough.
Applications: versions with the ACM Panasonic module. We confirm the correct variant by the part number.

Look for a metal module with a CD slot, mounted in the dashboard. ACM is responsible for radio and audio playback. It is a separate unit from the APIM module that operates the SYNC system and screen.
ACM comes in different versions for SYNC 1, 2 and 3 systems. Not every version has a DAB tuner or the same equipment. The unit number and system version help identify which module is in your vehicle.
The part number is on the casing label. It includes the 19C107 designation, for example CV4T-19C107-AG. Send a photo of the full label — we also need the final letters, which distinguish the variants.
Choose the group and compare the designation with the label. XX replaces the final letters of the part number — we need the full designation for identification. The list helps to identify the ACM; it does not confirm interchangeability of modules. If you cannot find your number, send us a photo of the label.
No sound may be present all the time or appear only after some time. The symptoms below help describe the problem; the symptom alone does not yet indicate which part of the system is faulty. We check the module’s operation and its response to control on the SYNC test bench; the repair scope is determined once the cause is confirmed.
The screen works and the phone connects via Bluetooth, but the radio, CD and other sources are silent. The volume may remain at zero despite attempts to change it.
The sound cuts out, returns and then drops out again. Crackling may appear only after several or several dozen minutes, even though the radio works properly straight after start-up.
You cannot return to FM, select another station or change the volume. In some cases, this fault was preceded by crackling in the speakers.
The buttons or screen do not let you switch the radio to FM or CD. The interface may still work in other respects, even though audio commands have no effect.
The sound comes back after restarting the system, but disappears the next time the car is switched on or closed. It is important after how long and under what circumstances the problem returns.
Car diagnostics may show no response from the module. Such a result also requires checking its power supply and wiring in the car; the fault code alone does not confirm radio damage.
Device refurbishment: 984 zł incl. VAT. The price includes repair of damaged connections on the ACM module board and a function test. If diagnostics reveal other damage, we will present the scope of work and a separate quote for approval. We issue a VAT invoice.
After checking the ACM, we confirm the scope of work and the price. We start the repair after your approval.
Module refurbishment usually takes 1–3 working days. Transport and any removal and refitting in the car must be added to this. We confirm the time for other work after diagnostics.
We provide a 24-month warranty for device refurbishment. For other repair work, we state the terms together with the quote.
In the SYNC system, picture and sound depend on different components. ACM is responsible for radio and audio playback, while the APIM module handles the multimedia system and its interaction with the screen. Therefore, a working touchscreen, a visible map or a phone connection via Bluetooth do not confirm that the ACM is functioning correctly. Likewise, replacing the screen or moving from SYNC 2 to SYNC 3 does not automatically remove a fault in the audio module left in the car.
What matters is whether all sources are silent. If FM radio plays normally and the problem concerns only music from the phone, that is a different case from complete silence combined with locked volume. In cars with a separate amplifier, this element must also be taken into account. This difference helps determine what to check before removal, instead of replacing sound parts that are still working based only on the appearance of the screen.
Restarting may restore a frozen module, but it does not repair physical damage to the electronics. In ACM, one of the causes of intermittent sound is weakened connections on the main board. If contact appears and disappears, the radio may work properly one time and crackle or stay silent another. A brief return of sound is therefore not proof that the problem has been permanently resolved — nor, by itself, proof that these connections are to blame.
For identifying the fault, the time when it returns matters more than the number of resets performed. You describe a radio that is silent from the very start differently from one that starts crackling after twenty minutes or stops working after the car is locked. Information about this pattern helps us reproduce the reported behaviour when checking the module; a short listen to a radio that is currently working may not reveal the problem.
We start by checking the reported problem on a bench with the appropriate SYNC version. Once we confirm a connection fault on the board, refurbishment covers the damaged areas and areas known to be prone to the same problem. The scope of work is matched to the condition of the module being repaired. Another fault may require a different repair method.
At the end, we check more than just the return of sound: the response to volume adjustment, source changes and playback in the configuration appropriate for the given ACM. The test includes the available functions, including FM, CD, Bluetooth and USB, and in versions equipped with it also DAB digital radio. This ensures the check reflects how you use the system in the car — the radio should not only play, but also respond to commands.
01
Provide the car make, model and year, and describe the sound problem. Attach a photo of the ACM label. We usually reply within 24 hours on working days.
02
Send only the ACM module with the CD slot, without the screen, decorative panel or wiring looms. Protect the device with bubble wrap, place it in a rigid box and fill any empty space.
03
On request, we can arrange courier collection and return at our expense. After receiving the unit, we check it and confirm the scope of work. We start the repair after your approval.
04
We return the checked module with an invoice and written warranty. After refurbishing your own ACM, without changing the software, refitting it in the same car does not require coding.
How to distinguish ACM from the SYNC module, recognise the symptoms of a fault and check what the repair includes.
After refurbishing your own module, and without changing its software, fitting it back in the same car does not require coding. Replacing the ACM with a part from another car is a different case — it may require configuration matching.
No. The full number from the label is needed, including the letters at the end. ACM comes in different equipment versions, so the common 19C107 designation does not confirm that two modules are interchangeable.
Refurbishing your own ACM keeps its existing equipment and configuration. If it had DAB digital radio, the repair will not turn it into a version without that function. Navigation is handled by the SYNC system; ACM refurbishment is not an update or upgrade of it.
An update will not fix physical damage to the electronics. However, not every case of no sound has that cause. If the problem started after a software change, let us know — it needs to be taken into account when diagnosing the fault.
Write which components were replaced and whether the lack of sound was already present before. Include the number of the ACM that was left in place or installed. This helps separate an earlier fault from problems with choosing or configuring the new set.
Yes. Intermittent sound and crackling are a reason to check the module even when the radio works between symptoms. Describe after how long the problem appears and whether it disappears after restarting. We will confirm whether repair is possible for your version of the unit.
No. If you decide not to proceed after the quote, the repair proves impossible or the cause lies outside the module, diagnostics and return shipping are free of charge.
Access depends on the car model and dashboard design. If you do not have experience removing panels and electronics, have the removal carried out by a local workshop. First make sure it is the ACM with the CD slot, not the module by the screen.
For ACM repair, send only the identified radio module, without the screen, trim panels or the car wiring. Secure it in the box so it cannot move and include a description of the symptoms. If you are not sure which part to remove, send a photo before disassembly.
The repair itself usually takes 1–3 working days. The full downtime also includes transport, as well as removal and refitting of the unit. For other types of repair, we will give you the lead time after diagnostics.
It may show no communication or stored faults, but the readout alone will not confirm damaged connections on the board. The codes are useful information for diagnostics; they do not replace checking the module and its power supply.
When buying a used module, check the full part number, equipment — including DAB — and whether it needs to be configured in the car. Compare the cost of the part and commissioning it with repairing your own ACM for 984 zł incl. VAT with a 24-month warranty. A similar casing alone does not confirm compatibility.
