Fault symptoms — black screen and silence
Damaged Pioneer P10443 displays nothing on the LCD and produces no sound — no source works: neither FM, nor DAB+, nor navigation, nor DVD. The unit draws power but does not initialise the system.
Black screen — no LCD response
The display stays black from the moment the ignition is turned on — no Lexus logo, welcome screen or any message appears. The touch function also does not respond, so you cannot enter the menu, change source or adjust the volume. As a result, the navigation will not load the map.

Why does the navigation radio stop working?
The cause is damage to electronic components on the main board of unit P10443 — most often after a power surge. Crucially, the damage is not repetitive: different sections of the board, different components, depending on the mileage and history of the vehicle.
A power surge from a booster — the most common scenario
A weak or flat battery → the owner connects a booster → the engine starts → at the moment the booster is disconnected (or connected incorrectly), a voltage spike appears → the surge damages components on the radio’s main board. As a result, the engine works normally, but the radio does not respond.
What is more, this scenario applies not only to the Lexus IS — we see similar faults in Toyota, VW, Ford, Mercedes. All it takes is a moment’s inattention when connecting the booster with reverse polarity or a voltage spike that is too strong.
