What happens to your Comand NTG4?
The symptoms help describe the fault. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module.
Loud bangs in the speakers
Very loud crackling and “bangs” come from the speakers, and the problem appears once the radio warms up. The cause is a voltage drop across the operational amplifiers in the audio path, which leads to sudden discharge of the coupling capacitors.
Complete loss of sound
The screen works, the navigation shows the map, and there is silence in the speakers or only quiet “clicking”. The complete lack of sound is caused by a fault in the circuit stabilising the power supply to the audio path in the unit.
Strange sounds when the car is switched off
Customers describe knocking or squeaking even with the car locked and the audio system switched off. We determine the cause after inspecting the removed module.
Reset to the logo and restarts
The unit powers up, shows the Mercedes-Benz logo and keeps restarting in a loop. We also repair this fault, and we define the scope of work after inspecting the module.
Does not start at all
The Comand may be completely inactive — black screen and no sound. We inspect the module, diagnose the cause and present the scope of repair.
