This is the factory Clarion navigation radio used in Honda vehicles. You will find the QY-5017H-A model in Honda CR-V, Civic and Jazz.
The label may show part number: 08A40-2S6-4000-1 or 08A40-2R6-4000-01. The model name is QY-5017H-A Clarion.
With your enquiry, please send a photo of the label with the part number and a description of the fault. You send only the removed module to the workshop; we check it in our workshop.
The symptoms help describe the fault. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module.
The screen may display a prompt to enter a four-digit PIN code and you may lose access to the radio, navigation and hands-free kit. The code is stored in the device memory — we read it out after checking the module.
The fault may appear after the battery has been disconnected, replaced or deeply discharged. We confirm the lock on a test bench and read the flash memory.
After receiving it, we connect the module on a test bench and confirm the active PIN lock.
We read the flash memory, extract the original four-digit PIN code and verify that it is correct.
If requested, we can disable the code prompt; the scope and price of the work are agreed after checking the module. After the repair, we test it and send the module back safely packed.
A used radio from an advert may also be coded. We work on your module and send it back after the service and testing.
You do not need to bring the vehicle in. Describe the problem and we will help you work out what to remove and send. After inspection, you will receive a quote for approval — only then will we start work.
01
Write what is happening in the vehicle, state the make, model and year. Add a photo of the device, the error screen or the nameplate sticker, if you have one. On that basis, we will initially assess whether we can help.
02
Not sure whether to remove the radio, screen, amplifier or another unit? We will advise which component to check, how to prepare it for shipping and how to pack the parcel safely.
03
In the workshop we carry out diagnostics, confirm the source of the problem and define the scope of work. We send a quote for approval. We only start work after your approval.
04
We remove the cause of the fault, test the device and send it back safely packed for refitting. Every repair we carry out is covered by a warranty.
Answers to questions about unlocking the QY-5017H-A radio. Before sending it, you can email a photo of the label with the part number.
No. A physical readout of the internal memory is required, so the removed module must be sent to the workshop.
If you choose the option to disable the code request, once that has been done the radio should no longer ask for the code. Without this option, we pass the read-out code on to you.
We verify the recovered code on a test bench before returning the radio to confirm it is correct.
If we find another fault, we will contact you, present the diagnosis and the quote. We do not carry out any additional work without your consent.
No. If you decide not to proceed, or if the unit cannot be repaired, or the fault lies outside it, diagnosis and return shipping are free of charge.
