In the Honda Jazz II from 2011–2015, one of the factory infotainment units is the QY-5017H-A (Clarion). Our repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier for Honda Jazz II starts with establishing whether the device is faulty or simply locked by a code.

Anti-theft function message

The QY-5017H-A infotainment unit displays a message that the anti-theft function has been activated and asks for a 4-digit security code. This happens immediately after the battery is disconnected, replaced or deeply discharged. Until the code is entered, the radio, navigation, settings and hands-free kit do not work.

Why the code is not in the documents

In this model, the PIN code could have been set by the first owner of the car. It is stored only in the radio memory, so online calculators have no way of retrieving it. Guessing does not help either: after several incorrect attempts the radio may block permanently. The only way is to read the code from the memory on the main board, and for that we need the removed unit – we cannot do it remotely.

How work on the Jazz radio looks

Once the module arrives, we carry out the following steps:

  • connection on the test bench and confirmation of the active lock,
  • checking whether the unit has any other faults,
  • reading the code with a programmer and verifying it,
  • at your request – disabling the code prompt function.

In your enquiry, please give the car’s year, describe the message shown on the screen and attach a photo of the label with the part number. If the infotainment unit has symptoms other than asking for a code, write exactly what is happening; we confirm the scope and price after inspection.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifiers for Honda Jazz II: enquiry, module shipping and quote.

After replacing the battery in a Honda Jazz II, the radio asks for a code. Where can I get it?

In the Clarion infotainment unit, the code could have been set by the first owner and is stored only in the device memory. If you do not have it in the car’s documents, we read it from the removed radio.

Will an online code calculator work for the Clarion radio in a Jazz?

No, because the code is not derived from the serial number; it was set individually and stored in the radio memory. Online tools have no access to it, so they have no way of knowing the correct digits.

How many times can I try entering the radio code in a Jazz?

It is better not to guess: after several incorrect attempts the radio may block permanently, which makes further work more difficult. If you do not know the code, leave the unit alone and describe the situation to us.

Can you disable the code prompt so it does not come back after disconnecting the battery?

Yes, after reading and checking the code, we can disable the radio’s code prompt at your request. Please mark this in the enquiry before sending the unit by courier.

Can you read the radio code from a Honda Jazz II remotely?

No, reading requires a physical connection to the memory inside the unit, so the radio has to come to the workshop. You arrange removal on site, and we work on the module itself.
