No navigation when you press NAV or a message about the missing map database? We repair RHW Harman Becker units from Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep. Send the module only with a description of the symptoms, we will check it at the workshop and confirm the scope of the repair.
RHW is a factory navigation radio by Harman Becker fitted in Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles. It appears, among others, in the Chrysler Town & Country and Chrysler 200, as well as in various Dodge and Jeep models. The units date from approx. 2008–2018.
You can recognise it by the RHW marking on the front panel — the symbol is in the lower right corner of the casing, next to the AUX input. Check the front panel to confirm the model before sending it in.
In your enquiry, describe what happens when you press the NAV button and when the problem occurs. Send the removed module only by courier; before submitting the job, you can send us a photo of the label with the part number and we will verify it.
What is happening with your RHW?
The symptoms help describe the fault. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module.
Map database missing
After pressing NAV, you will see the message “Navigation Database Not Detected Please Install Navigation Database”. This means the radio cannot detect the map database. We check the module and determine the cause.
Hard drive not working
The map drive may be damaged or may not boot in the radio. You can remove the drive and test it outside the radio — if it works outside the module, the problem may be in the unit’s electronics. In our workshop we check the drive, software and module electronics.
Faulty main board electronics
A faulty drive power supply circuit or another main board electronics failure can cause the radio not to see the drive and the navigation not to work. This is a fault that requires main board repair. We check the module and repair the electronics.
We check whether the radio detects the drive and which messages appear. After diagnosis, we confirm the scope of work and the repair price.
Drive and software
We check the map drive and the software. We replace a faulty drive, and update or reload the software. After the repair, we test the navigation system.
Electronics repair
We remove faults in the drive power supply circuit and other main board damage requiring electronic repair. After the repair, we check whether the module recognises the drive and whether the navigation works.
Repair your own unit or replace it?
A used unit from the market may have the same problem with the drive or board. We repair your unit, and after the repair we test the device and send it back safely packaged.
You do not need to bring the vehicle in. Describe the problem and we will help you work out what to remove and send. After inspection, you will receive a quote for approval — only then will we start work.
Write what is happening in the vehicle, state the make, model and year. Add a photo of the device, the error screen or the nameplate sticker, if you have one. On that basis, we will initially assess whether we can help.

Definitely recommended. Very fast repair and very good, speedy communication. Information was available at every stage of the repair request process — an online repair management system. The unit (radio) was already meant to be written off and replaced with another used one. Fortunately, I accidentally found the OEMatic blog while looking for a replacement, and it saved me from replacing it with another used unit, which would have been a loss for the appearance (the fronts of the replacements I found were not in such good condition, and all of them were older than my unit from pre-facelift models); the newer ones were more expensive than the repair. The Harman-Kardon amplifier in my BMW F33 was flooded, so I decided to hand it over to OEMatic. A quick check to see whether it could be saved — yes! it could! A few days later the amplifier was back with me after repair.
For a moment I also had doubts whether only the amplifier had been damaged by the flooding, because I lost the ability to set the time and information such as instant fuel consumption or average fuel consumption disappeared; after a phone call I was told that this can happen because of a break in the car’s CAN circuit due to the amplifier being absent.
The theory proved correct, and fitting the already repaired amplifier helped and all the functions returned.
I hope the amplifier will serve for a long time to come and without faults.

Why does the message about the missing map database appear?
This may mean a faulty drive, a software error or damage to the main board electronics. After checking the module, we identify the cause and suggest a repair.
Will replacing the drive solve the problem?
If the drive is faulty, replacing it may restore navigation. If the problem lies in the board electronics, the drive alone may work outside the module — we check this in the workshop and confirm the scope of board repair.
Will I be charged for diagnostics if I decide not to go ahead?
