Radio repair, navigation and Chrysler amplifiers includes factory radios, RHW navigation units and OEM amplifiers fitted as standard and working with the vehicle’s wiring. The same symptom may be caused by a fault in the unit itself or by a problem with the vehicle’s power supply, communication or configuration. That is why no sound, a system freeze or non-working navigation do not immediately mean the whole module needs replacing. The service covers OEM units, i.e. factory-fitted units designed by the vehicle manufacturer, not Android replacements, so the assessment begins by separating a fault in the unit from a problem occurring outside it.

What are the symptoms of Chrysler audio unit failures?

The symptoms may range from a complete failure to start to partial operation with faults in the sound, screen or navigation. In a radio or RHW, it matters whether the problem affects system startup, only the maps, or the audio itself. A reset after heating up is also interpreted differently from a constant lack of response after switch-on.

No sound does not automatically mean a faulty amplifier. The cause may also be software mute, no turn-on signal, a fault in the audio path — that is, the route through which the sound is transmitted — or a problem with the wiring loom or the speaker itself. When there are navigation problems, it is worth specifying in the description whether the unit loses GPS position, will not load maps, or freezes after entering that function. A fault may be indicated by:

  • the radio will not start or stops at startup,
  • the system freezes, resets or only works until it warms up,
  • there is no sound even though the panel and screen work,
  • the navigation will not open maps, loses GPS position or shows an error,
  • the buttons, backlighting or screen respond incorrectly,
  • the unit asks for a code, remains locked or does not work with the car after replacement.

How is diagnosis and repair of a Chrysler radio or navigation system carried out?

Diagnosis starts with the symptom description and the unit details, because the amount of information needed depends on whether the problem concerns no start-up, a lockout, or the navigation function itself. When making an enquiry, photos of the screen or error, the part number and information on whether the battery was disconnected or modules were replaced are helpful. On this basis, a free initial quote is prepared from the description and photos, and the time needed to prepare it depends on how complete the enquiry is, the clarity of the photos and the type of fault.

Once the removed unit has been received, the specialist confirms the cause of the fault and the repair cost. The time taken for this assessment depends on the type of fault, the possibility of reproducing the symptom — in other words, triggering it under test conditions — and the scope of the tests required. Work starts only after the cost has been approved, and the workshop then repairs and tests the removed unit before returning it.

Only the removed unit is checked, not the whole car. If the unit works properly outside the vehicle, the source of the symptom must be sought in the installation or another module by a local auto electrician. Every repair comes with a written warranty, and its period depends on the scope of the service.

What should you prepare before sending the unit for repair?

Prepare as detailed a description of the symptom as possible, together with the vehicle and unit details. For diagnosis, it matters whether the problem concerns start-up, sound itself, the screen, a lockout or the navigation function in RHW. If the fault is intermittent, note the conditions under which it occurs too, because a reset after warming up points to a different path than a constant lack of response.

Prepare the following for the enquiry:

  • the make, model and year of the vehicle,
  • the unit part number,
  • a photo of the front of the unit and the error screen,
  • a description of when the symptom appears and whether it is constant or intermittent,
  • information about battery disconnection, module replacement, wiring repair or a collision,
  • an indication of what works properly and what has stopped working.

If there is no sound, note whether the panel, screen and source switching work. For RHW navigation, it is good practice to separate a lack of GPS position — that is, no location fix — from a situation where the maps will not load or the system freezes after entering that function. Such a distinction can shorten the route to the correct assessment and reduce the risk of replacing working parts unnecessarily, if the description is precise and makes it possible to distinguish a navigation problem from other unit faults.

When is it worth choosing repair instead of replacing the unit?

Repair is worth considering when the original unit still fits the vehicle and the symptom clearly points to a specific electronics or data section. This includes problems with the internal power supply, the audio path, that is, the section responsible for sound, memory, backlighting, the panel or the unit lockout. A random used module may add another problem instead of removing the existing one. When replacing, you also need to confirm compatibility of the part number and functions with the display, steering wheel controls and factory amplifier.

Replacement starts to make sense when the board is badly corroded, mechanically damaged or simply incomplete. The same applies when the condition of the unit no longer allows stable operation to be restored after repair. If you are considering another unit, compare not only the appearance of the panel, but also the part number and full range of functions.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of Chrysler radios, navigation systems and amplifiers: enquiry, module shipping and quote.

Do you repair factory Chrysler radio, navigation and amplifier units?

Yes, we work on factory OEM units fitted in Chrysler cars: radios, navigation systems and amplifiers. We do not service replacements fitted instead of the factory units, including Android units.

Is it worth repairing a Chrysler radio instead of buying another one?

There is no need to buy a new or used module straight away, because a similar symptom may be caused by a fault in the unit or by a problem outside it. After checking the module, we confirm the cost and only repair it after your approval.

How will I get a quote for Chrysler unit repair?

Before sending it, we prepare a preliminary, approximate quote based on the description and photos. We confirm the exact price after checking the delivered module, and we start the repair after your approval.

Do I need to bring the Chrysler in, or can I send the module?

OEMatic receives the removed unit, not the car. You can send the module from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person to Sochaczew by prior arrangement.

What should you prepare before requesting Chrysler audio repair?

Prepare the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and photos of the panel or unit and the rating label. You do not need to know the radio name; if the part number is needed, we will ask for it.
