NTG3.5 is a Comand unit by Harman Becker fitted in Mercedes S-Class W221 and CL C216 facelift models from around 2009–2013. It is a factory multimedia system with navigation.
On the side sticker with part numbers, in the “Model.:” field, you will find the designation, e.g. BE9027, BE9028 or BE9031, and the part number, e.g. A 221 900 88 03. These details will help confirm that it is NTG3.5.
In your request, send a photo of the sticker with part numbers and describe the symptoms: whether the unit does not start, resets, has no sound or the drive/navigation does not work. Send the removed module only to the workshop.
The symptoms help describe the fault. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module.
Comand does not start and does not respond. After checking the module, we will tell you what scope of work is needed.
After switching on, you can see the menu only for a short time, then it performs a characteristic restart. We check the module in our service environment and determine the cause.
The menu works, but there is silence in the speakers. The radio tuner is located in the Logic7 amplifier in the boot, not in the Comand, so a faulty amplifier may be the cause of no sound. We also refurbish this module.
The Comand accepts the disc and shows the number of tracks, but does not play music, although the amplifier is working properly. We repair CD/DVD drives and changers; the scope of work is confirmed after checking the module.
After selecting the NAVI function, you only see the loading screen. A faulty hard drive may be the cause. After checking the module, we will determine whether the function can be restored or whether another hard drive needs to be fitted in the unit.
We check the removed module in our service environment and confirm the scope of work and the price before starting the repair.
We repair the unit electronics and CD/DVD drive components, and restore navigation functions where possible. After the repair, we test the module.
After the repair, we carry out tests, pack the module securely and send it back. We issue a VAT invoice and a written warranty.
NTG3.5 is coded to the car using the chassis number. A used unit requires the purchase and entry of activation codes (anti-theft and navigation functions), while we repair your original unit.
You do not need to bring the vehicle in. Describe the problem and we will help you work out what to remove and send. After inspection, you will receive a quote for approval — only then will we start work.

03
In the workshop we carry out diagnostics, confirm the source of the problem and define the scope of work. We send a quote for approval. We only start work after your approval.
04
We remove the cause of the fault, test the device and send it back safely packed for refitting. Every repair we carry out is covered by a warranty.
Yes, if the fault is in the unit. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module. Before repair, we will let you know what scope of work is needed.
Not always. The radio tuner is in the Logic7 amplifier, so silence in the speakers, crackling and radio faults can be caused by a faulty amplifier. If you are not sure, describe the symptoms before sending it in.
Yes. We repair CD/DVD drives and changers; the scope of work and the possibility of restoring playback are determined after checking the module.
If after selecting NAVI you only see the loading screen, the hard drive may be faulty. After checking the module, we will decide whether we can restore the function or fit another hard drive, and we will provide the cost.
No. If you decide not to proceed, the device cannot be repaired or the fault is outside it, diagnostics and return shipping are free of charge. We start the repair after approval of the scope and price.
