How do I identify MFD LOW?

NAV MFD LOW is a module with a five-inch screen and navigation, fitted in selected Fords. It comes in several versions. We identify it by the marking on the casing and the full part number — the SYNC name alone or the car model is not enough.

Applications: selected trim levels with NAV MFD LOW. Before repair, we confirm the module from the label; the list below does not mean the units are interchangeable between cars.

    Module screen and casing

Look for the module with a five-inch screen, mounted in the dashboard. Once removed, the metal casing is visible. The car’s control panel buttons are not part of the module shown.

    Rear and connectors

The wiring connectors and fan are located at the rear. Please include photos of the front, rear and label with your enquiry. They help distinguish MFD LOW from other Ford screens and navigation units.

    NAV MFD LOW designation

Look on the label for the name FORD NAV MFD LOW and the full Ford part number, e.g. BM5T-18B955-DE. Next to it there may be a manufacturer number, e.g. 7 612 032 186. Copy the final letters and all digits.

    MFD LOW part numbers

Compare the full designation with the label, including the final letters. The list helps identify the unit; it does not confirm interchangeability of its versions. If you cannot find your number, send us a photo of the label.

What is happening with your MFD LOW?

Below we describe typical MFD LOW issues and the scope of our inspection. In your enquiry, please describe what is happening with your unit.

The screen fades or turns white

The picture loses contrast and becomes increasingly bright. This symptom may be caused by damage to the display or its control unit. We check the module and determine which component needs repair or replacement.

    Flickering, lines and distorted picture

Lines, interference or flickering appear on the screen. Please write whether the symptom depends on temperature or operating time. We check image display and the module electronics instead of choosing a repair based on a photo alone.

Black screen, but the radio still plays

The sound works, but no picture appears. This is an important clue that helps distinguish a display fault from a complete failure to start up. We check the display path and the screen power supply.

    No picture, sound or response

The unit remains inactive; sometimes only the fan can be heard. In the case we describe, the cause was the module power supply circuit. We confirm the cause during diagnostics. After repair, we check start-up and stable operation.

How much does MFD LOW repair cost?

Power supply repair: 984 zł incl. VAT.

The price applies to repair of the MFD LOW module power supply circuit. Other faults, including display damage, are quoted separately after inspection. We issue a VAT invoice.

    Repair after your approval

We start the repair after you approve the scope and the price.

    Inspection and repair time

Inspection takes 1–3 days, and repair 2–5 days, depending on the service performed. We confirm the lead time after checking the unit. Transport and removal and refitting require additional time.

    24-month warranty

We provide a 24-month warranty on the repair. Its scope is described in a written document enclosed with the unit.

Radio plays, but the screen is black — what does that mean?

When the screen goes dark, it is easy to think the entire navigation system has stopped working. However, it is worth checking whether the radio is still audible and whether the unit responds to the buttons. A black screen with sound still working is a different situation from a complete lack of response. In the first case, the display and its power supply need to be checked. In the second, we need to establish why the module is not starting properly.

The course of the fault also matters. MFD LOW enquiries include both gradual picture fading and coloured stripes, as well as complete loss of display. Please note whether the interference was getting worse or the screen went out suddenly. This helps distinguish a picture fault from a start-up failure. If the fault only occurs intermittently, a photo or short video will capture the symptom that may no longer be visible later.

What do we repair when the problem is in the power supply?

A working display will not show an image if it is not receiving the correct power supply. That is why a black screen does not automatically mean the matrix needs replacing. MFD LOW power supply repair concerns the electronics that provide the voltage needed for the module to operate. Fixing this fault allows you to keep your own unit instead of replacing the whole set. After repair, we check its start-up and operation.

The power supply repair offer for 984 zł incl. VAT covers exactly this scope of work. If the problem lies in the display itself, the possibility of repair, parts availability and price must be assessed separately. Picture fading, lines and no backlight do not automatically mean the same fault. That is why we quote according to the fault identified, and you decide on the repair once you know its scope.

Does MFD LOW need coding after repair?

When repairing the power supply, we keep the original module and its software. If the unit returns to the same car without any configuration changes, the service does not require recoding. This is an important difference between repairing your own unit and installing another one.

Buying a used MFD LOW requires checking the full part number and equipment compatibility. The text on the casing and a similar screen do not confirm interchangeability. Replacement may also mean the configuration has to be adapted to the car. Part compatibility and any coding should be established before purchase, not only once another unit has already been fitted. If your module has previously been replaced or modified, note this in your enquiry — we do not assume it still has the factory configuration.

How do I send my MFD LOW for repair?

    01

    Show the unit

Please provide the Ford model and year, describe the symptoms and include photos of the unit and the labels. We usually reply within 24 hours on working days.

    02

Prepare your MFD LOW for shipping

After confirming the version, send the complete MFD LOW module with the screen and electronics, without dismantling the housing. Agree the extent of disassembly with us; do not send only the matrix or all system components blindly. Protect the screen and connectors, wrap the unit in bubble wrap and place it in a rigid box. Fill any free space so the module cannot move during transport.

    03

    Approve the scope of repair

On request, we can arrange a courier both ways at our expense. After receiving the unit, we carry out an inspection and provide the scope and price. We start the work after your approval.

    04

    Collect your tested unit

We return the tested and secured unit together with a VAT invoice and a written warranty. Before refitting, please read the instructions provided.

Many thanks to the entire OEMatic team for repairing the radio in my Lexus CT.

Problem: black screen, no working radio, no interaction with the radio at all.

Highly recommended! My OEM JBL amplifier from a Toyota (CHR, 2017) suffered a short circuit, and other audio workshops would not agree to repair it. Here the problem was solved extremely quickly. They received the parcel on Monday, and by Thursday the repaired unit was back with me. Excellent communication at every stage, and most importantly – the price includes a 24-month warranty.
    Complete professionalism!

A service absolutely worth recommending. After years of problems with the infotainment head unit in my Skoda Superb constantly freezing and resetting, the MIB was finally repaired. The main dealer could only offer a replacement with a new unit for 3500 eur (!), other car audio companies could not help, and OEMatic carried out the repair in 1 day.

I recommend them wholeheartedly….I don’t know how they did it, but they decoded the radio from an Iveco Daily 2020 faster than it takes to pack the parcel with the radio…One workshop promised a lot, but failed and said the radio was only fit for scrap. I highly recommend them — complete professionalism and a good price. Best regards.

I recommend OEMatic — only 3 days passed from sending the radio to the workshop and having it fitted back in my car.
The radio from a Mercedes ML W164 2007 NTG2 BE 6089 had its fault diagnosed extremely quickly, and the repair was carried out just as fast.
Communication with Mr Tomasz was excellent, and updates from the workshop on the progress of the repair were sent promptly. This is definitely a workshop other people can learn from.
An obvious 5 stars from me.

VW Touran radio, I sent it to the company because the reversing camera was not working and the radio would not turn on. Sent by courier. Diagnosis: no faults. (the fault needs to be looked for elsewhere) The radio was sent back quickly and the company did not charge anything, not even for the return postage. There probably aren’t many honest companies like this left here in Poland. Many thanks.

Definitely recommended. Very fast repair and very good, speedy communication. Information was available at every stage of the repair request process — an online repair management system. The unit (radio) was already meant to be written off and replaced with another used one. Fortunately, I accidentally found the OEMatic blog while looking for a replacement, and it saved me from replacing it with another used unit, which would have been a loss for the appearance (the fronts of the replacements I found were not in such good condition, and all of them were older than my unit from pre-facelift models); the newer ones were more expensive than the repair. So that’s a plus too.

I left a Honda Jazz radio panel for repair. In addition to the radio, the guys also repaired the CD player at the same price, even though I hadn’t asked them to. I also received spare bulbs for the button backlighting. Very friendly and professional, the radio and player work flawlessly. I recommend them with a clear conscience. Such expertise is rare nowadays.

For a long time I’d been battling an annoying problem in my VW Passat B8 — the car radio kept losing sound. Fortunately, I found OEMatic Car Media Lab and it was a perfect choice!
From the first contact it was clear there was professionalism and huge knowledge of factory audio systems. Quick diagnosis and an even quicker (and most importantly: EFFECTIVE!) repair! The result? The radio plays crystal clear, with no dropouts or interruptions. You can tell the fault was removed at the source, not just temporarily masked.
If you have any problems with factory audio, navigation or the radio in your car (especially VW, Audi, Skoda!), I definitely recommend OEMatic Car Media Lab. True experts!

The Harman-Kardon amplifier in my BMW F33 was flooded, so I decided to hand it over to OEMatic. A quick check to see whether it could be saved — yes! it could! A few days later the amplifier was back with me after repair.

For a moment I also had doubts whether only the amplifier had been damaged by the flooding, because I lost the ability to set the time and information such as instant fuel consumption or average fuel consumption disappeared; after a phone call I was told that this can happen because of a break in the car’s CAN circuit due to the amplifier being absent.

The theory proved correct, and fitting the already repaired amplifier helped and all the functions returned.

I hope the amplifier will serve for a long time to come and without faults.

    I honestly RECOMMEND IT!

The content of the reviews I read quickly convinced me to have my unit repaired at OeMatic. I expected the highest quality of service at every stage and that is exactly what I received. After the phone call I received all the information needed for shipping by text message. As soon as the workshop received the parcel with the radio, I got a phone call, we agreed the details, I confirmed the price and the repair began. In the afternoon of the next day I was informed that the repair had been completed, I settled the bill and the radio was back with me after 4 days. It seems there is no room for even the slightest shortcoming in this company (such as a delay with a text message).
For me, this is the highest quality.
Thank you very much for the repair and I wish you success🙂

Before you send in your MFD LOW

Is NAV MFD LOW every SYNC 1 system?

No. The SYNC name does not uniquely identify the display and navigation module. We need the NAV MFD LOW designation and the full number from the label.

The radio works, but the screen is black. Is it the same problem?

Not necessarily. Working sound helps narrow the diagnosis to the image display, but does not yet confirm a damaged component. Also describe the unit’s response to the buttons.

Does a white screen mean the whole module needs replacing?

We do not assume that without checking. We assess the display and its control system, then present the possible scope of repair.

Can I send just the screen without the electronics?

First send photos and agree the scope of shipping. For diagnosing the faults described, we need the complete module, not the removed panel.

Will a used MFD LOW I buy work straight away?

This cannot be confirmed from the appearance alone. Compare the full part number, equipment and configuration requirements. First it is worth checking whether your own unit can be repaired.

Do I have to provide the number from the label if I know the Ford model?

Yes. One car model could have different systems and equipment variants. Send the full label, a photo of the front and a description of the symptoms.

How long does the inspection and repair take?

Inspection takes 1–3 days, and repair 2–5 days, depending on the service performed. We confirm the lead time after checking the unit. Transport and removal and refitting require additional time.

    What warranty will I receive?

We provide a 24-month warranty on the repair. Its scope is described in a written document enclosed with the unit.

Will I be charged for diagnostics if I decide not to go ahead?

No. If you withdraw, the unit cannot be repaired, or the fault lies outside it, diagnostics and return shipping are free of charge. We carry out the repair after you approve the scope and price.
