What is wrong with your Porsche PCM3.1?
The symptoms help describe the fault. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module.
Screen full of pixels and lines
After switching on, you may see random pixels, lines and “ants” interference, which makes operation impossible. The cause may be faulty graphics-generation chips or their memory. We check the module and, once the fault is confirmed, refurbish the damaged graphics components.
Freezes and reboots on the logo
The unit may stop on the logo or restart repeatedly, and sometimes you can hear the hard drive running. Possible causes include a hard drive fault, damaged software or a main board issue. After checking the module, we determine the scope of repair.
Does not power up
The radio may show no picture or fail to start when switched on. We confirm the cause after checking the module — we inspect the hard drive, software and main board condition, then suggest the repair.
Faulty hard drive
Early PCM3.1 units have a 40 GB PATA hard drive, later ones a 100 GB SATA drive. If the hard drive is faulty, we replace it with a new automotive-grade drive.
