Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of the Porsche Panamera 970 radio, navigation and amplifiers: enquiry, module shipment and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Porsche Panamera 970?
Yes — we repair factory radios, navigation systems and amplifiers for the Porsche Panamera 970; in our workshop we inspect and repair the removed module you send us, we do not diagnose your car. You can send the module from anywhere in Poland or bring it in person by appointment.
Is it worth repairing instead of replacing it in the Porsche Panamera 970?
Repair makes sense when the original removed module is damaged and its functions can be restored without replacing it with another system. Based on photos you will receive an approximate quote, and after checking the removed module we will provide an exact offer and scope of work; we do not repair replacement units.
How is the repair of the module in the Porsche Panamera 970 quoted?
We prepare an approximate quote based on the photos and description you send us (make, model, year, symptoms) before you ship the module. After checking the removed unit we will provide the test result and the exact quote and scope of work for approval.
Do I need to bring the Porsche Panamera 970 in the car, or can I send the module?
You do not need to bring the car — send us the removed module from the Porsche Panamera 970 or deliver it by appointment. Protect the screen and connectors, place the module in a rigid cardboard box, fill any empty spaces, and include any additional items separately.
What should I prepare before submitting a Porsche Panamera 970 module?
Before submitting, prepare the car make, model and year, a brief description of the symptoms, and photos of the unit and the rating label. If you do not know which module to send, we will determine that before dismantling.
Our repair of the Porsche Panamera 970 radio, navigation and amplifier concerns the factory PCM3.1 unit sent to the workshop after being removed from the car.
Which factory unit do we service?
In the Porsche Panamera 970 we repair the Porsche PCM3.1 (Harman Becker) navigation and multimedia unit. Inside it has a hard drive with maps.
How do you recognise a PCM3.1 fault?
We repair PCM3.1 units with the following symptoms:
- screen covered in stripes, random pixels and “gibberish”, the so-called “ant war”,
- navigation switching off and on in cycles – at regular intervals or irregularly,
- freezing on the Porsche logo,
- not powering up or hard drive fault.
When it comes to resets, what matters is whether you manage to enter the menu or only see the logo; with image interference, whether the screen ever displays correctly, even for a moment. Please state this in your enquiry.
Scope of repair and quote
Resets may be caused by a faulty hard drive, corrupted software or a main board fault, while image interference may result from damaged graphics chips. We determine the cause in your unit after inspection. Before that, based on your description and photos of the unit and the sticker with the part number, we will prepare an initial, indicative quote; please also provide the make, model and year of the car. We start the repair after you accept the price. We do not repair Android replacements fitted in place of the factory unit.
