What is happening to your Porsche PCM3.0?
The symptoms help describe the fault. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module.
Artefacts and "ant wars"
The screen is covered with random pixels, stripes and garbled characters, and the menu is unreadable. The cause may be damaged graphics-generating circuits, including the graphics processor and its memory. In our workshop we check the module, replace the faulty graphics components and test the screen.
Resets and freezes on the logo
The unit shows the logo and restarts or freezes on the logo. The cause may be a faulty drive, corrupted software or a main board fault. Once we receive the module, we check the condition of the storage medium, software and main board, and confirm the repair scope before work begins.
Hard drive issues
A faulty storage medium can cause restarts or freezing. PCM3 used a 40GB hard drive with a PATA connector, which we check during diagnostics. If needed, we replace the drive and check the unit is working properly.
