Ford FX will not switch on or only works after several attempts? We repair factory LSRNS Blaupunkt and Bosch units. We also check for current draw after the car is switched off. Compare the unit number and describe the symptoms — we will determine the scope of repair.

Ford FX, also marked LSRNS, combines radio and navigation in one unit. It has a small screen without touch function, buttons on either side and two knobs. Before repair, we check the full number on the label — the panel appearance alone is not enough to determine the version.
Applications: Versions with the factory FX LSRNS unit. Equipment and unit number must be checked independently of the car model.
The FX screen is operated with buttons and knobs, not by touch. On the panel you will find, among others, the NAV and MAP buttons and an SD card slot. If the unit looks different, send us a photo of the front — we will help identify the version.
The message “Anti-theft protection” means the unit is waiting for the security code. The message itself does not mean a memory fault. If you do not have the code card, please note this in your enquiry.
Read the number from the label on the casing, e.g. 8M5T-18K931-GB. All characters matter, including the final letters. Attach a photo of the full label and the Ford model and year to your enquiry.
Compare the full number with the unit label. The markings below help identify FX LSRNS; they do not confirm unit interchangeability. If your number is not on the list, send a photo of the label.
Pay attention to when the problem occurs and what only helps for a short time. This information makes diagnosis easier, but it does not replace checking the unit.
The screen stays black and the unit does not respond to the power button. One possible cause is RAM damage; the power supply also needs to be checked. We confirm the cause at the bench and choose the repair according to the assessment result.
The radio does not start with the car, although it can sometimes be switched on with the button. This may be how a unit fault begins. We check start-up and response to ignition in cooperation with the car’s electronics.
After reconnecting, the radio works, but later the problem returns. A temporary improvement does not mean the fault has been removed. We check start-up stability and memory operation; we do not treat a reset as a repair.
A faulty FX may still draw current after the car has been switched off. A flat battery does not by itself prove a radio fault, however. We check the unit’s current draw. If the cause lies elsewhere, we will inform you of the diagnostic result.
The unit starts to switch on after warming up, and once it cools down it refuses to work again. This kind of dependence may accompany a memory fault. We check the components on the board. If a fault is confirmed, we replace the damaged chips — warming the unit alone does not remove the cause.
Ford FX repair usually costs 500 zł incl. VAT. After inspecting the unit, we confirm the scope of work and the price before the repair begins. We issue a VAT invoice.

Inspection takes 1–3 days, and repair 2–5 days, depending on the service performed. We confirm the lead time after checking the unit. Transport and removal and refitting require additional time.
You receive a 24-month written warranty for Ford FX repair. We enclose the document with the terms with the unit.
A damaged memory can react to temperature, so a temporary start after heating is sometimes mistaken for a repair. The symptom may return once the unit cools down. Do not heat the radio with a hairdryer or heat gun — let us know whether its behaviour depends on temperature.
If we confirm memory damage, we replace the faulty components with new chips designed for use in a car. The scope of work depends on the diagnostics of the specific unit.
Seeing a picture appear does not end the test. We check the unit’s start-up, its functions and current draw. On a bench with a cluster and BCM module, we check the response to ignition, illumination and diagnostic communication.
In your enquiry, please also describe symptoms that occur only after standing or at a specific temperature. This allows us to take them into account when checking the unit.
Before buying a replacement, compare the full part number and the trim specification. A similar panel does not guarantee compatibility with the car, and a used FX may have the same memory fault.
It is worth first assessing whether your own unit can be repaired. If you do not know the PIN code, tell us before sending it — we will determine what is needed to test and restart the radio in the car.

Please provide the Ford model and year, and describe when the FX fails. Include photos of the front and the label, as well as information about the PIN code. We usually reply within 24 hours on working days.

Before removal, send a photo of the front and the FX label. We will confirm which unit should be prepared for shipping. Do not dismantle the radio into the board and panel yourself. Protect the screen, knobs and connectors. Wrap the unit in cushioning material and secure it in a rigid box. Include your contact details and a description of the fault.

On request, we arrange a courier both ways at our expense. Once we receive the FX, we carry out an inspection and provide the scope of work and the price. We begin work after your approval.

We return the tested and protected unit together with a VAT invoice and a written warranty. Before refitting, prepare the PIN code if it is required to start the unit.

Highly recommended! My OEM JBL amplifier from a Toyota (CHR, 2017) suffered a short circuit, and other audio workshops would not agree to repair it. Here the problem was solved extremely quickly. A service absolutely worth recommending. After years of problems with the infotainment head unit in my Skoda Superb constantly freezing and resetting, the MIB was finally repaired. The radio from a Mercedes ML W164 2007 NTG2 BE 6089 had its fault diagnosed extremely quickly, and the repair was carried out just as fast.

VW Touran radio, I sent it to the company because the reversing camera was not working and the radio would not turn on. Sent by courier. Diagnosis: no faults. (the fault needs to be looked for elsewhere) The radio was sent back quickly and the company did not charge anything, not even for the return postage. Definitely recommended. Very fast repair and very good, speedy communication. Information was available at every stage of the repair request process — an online repair management system. The unit (radio) was already meant to be written off and replaced with another used one. Fortunately, I accidentally found the OEMatic blog while looking for a replacement, and it saved me from replacing it with another used unit, which would have been a loss for the appearance (the fronts of the replacements I found were not in such good condition, and all of them were older than my unit from pre-facelift models); the newer ones were more expensive than the repair. So that’s a plus too.

The Harman-Kardon amplifier in my BMW F33 was flooded, so I decided to hand it over to OEMatic. A quick check to see whether it could be saved — yes! it could! A few days later the amplifier was back with me after repair.
For a moment I also had doubts whether only the amplifier had been damaged by the flooding, because I lost the ability to set the time and information such as instant fuel consumption or average fuel consumption disappeared; after a phone call I was told that this can happen because of a break in the car’s CAN circuit due to the amplifier being absent.
The theory proved correct, and fitting the already repaired amplifier helped and all the functions returned.
I hope the amplifier will serve for a long time to come and without faults.

The content of the reviews I read quickly convinced me to have my unit repaired at OeMatic. I expected the highest quality of service at every stage and that is exactly what I received. After the phone call I received all the information needed for shipping by text message. As soon as the workshop received the parcel with the radio, I got a phone call, we agreed the details, I confirmed the price and the repair began. In the afternoon of the next day I was informed that the repair had been completed, I settled the bill and the radio was back with me after 4 days. It seems there is no room for even the slightest shortcoming in this company (such as a delay with a text message).

OEMatic solved the problem with a non-working USB port (motherboard repair) in the factory navigation system from a Kia Sportage in express mode. Highly recommended.

FX and LSRNS are designations for the same family of Ford factory radio-navigation units. We identify the exact version by the full number on the label, not by the appearance of the panel alone.
FX LSRNS has a screen without touch function. It is operated with buttons and knobs. If your navigation has a touchscreen, send a photo and the number — it may be a different unit family.
Not always. An FX with damaged memory can draw current while parked, but the cause of the battery drain must be confirmed by measurement. Do not replace the radio based on this symptom alone.
