Factory devices supported in the Ford S-Max I
In the Ford S-Max I we service the factory Ford CD132 – NAV. Module (Denso).
How can you tell the problem may be in the module?
This navigation unit combines the radio, disc drives and touch screen, so faults can affect different parts of it. The radio may fail to switch on at all, or only switch on occasionally. The tuner may stop searching for stations or display an incomplete digit layout. The CD drive may fail to read audio discs, and the DVD drive may fail to read the map disc. The GPS drive can also be damaged, for example after liquid ingress or a failed software update.
There is also the code issue: after a series of incorrect entries, the unit stops accepting the correct PIN code as well.
Scope of repair and intervention criteria
We check the removed module and advise on the possible next steps. For this unit we ask three things: what exactly is shown on the screen, whether you have the PIN code, and whether the unit has been updated or repaired.
We do not repair replacement units fitted instead of factory systems, such as Android radio-navigation units. We identify the factory module from the sticker with the part number, so please attach a photo of it and a photo of the front of the unit to your enquiry.
We prepare an initial quote based on photos and a description. After receiving the unit, we check it and provide the price before starting work.
