Mercedes‑Benz NTG2 Harman Becker is a factory radio-navigation unit fitted in Mercedes cars. It is found, among others, in A W169, B W245, C W203 (facelift), CLK C209/W209, ML W164, GL X164 and R W251; model years from 2004, depending on the version.
On the label you will find the manufacturer HARMAN/BECKER and the Model No. and Part Number. Example Model No.: BE6088, BE6092, BE6093, BE7094. Example part numbers: A1698205189, A1648202679, A2518200979, A2038705989.
When submitting, send a photo of the label with the part number. Send the removed module only by courier. We check the module at our workshop, then after checking we confirm the scope of work and the price, and we start the repair after your approval.
The symptoms help describe the fault. We confirm the cause after checking the removed module.
After switching on, the Mercedes‑Benz logo appears and the unit does not continue booting or enters a restart loop. The cause may be damaged solder joints (“cold joints”) on the main board, but a similar symptom may require checking the MOST loop. We check the module and, once the fault is confirmed, refurbish the main board.
The screen stays black, although sometimes the radio plays in the background. The cause may be a hardware fault on the main board (cold joints). We confirm it after checking the module.
The unit may fail to go to sleep and draw current while parked, which can result in a flat battery in the morning. We check the current draw of the removed module and, after repair, test its standby behaviour.
The panel buttons do not respond, while the menu, sound and steering wheel controls work. This combination of symptoms first points to another module in the MOST network, so before sending the unit, have an auto electrician carry out a MOST network test.
The sound may break up, crackle or disappear completely. In cars with Harman Kardon audio, the cause may be a faulty external amplifier, and in standard versions cold joints on the unit board. After checking the module, we determine the scope of repair.
We connect the removed module to a test bench and confirm the reported fault. After checking, we confirm the scope of work and the price; we carry out the repair after your approval.
We restore the connections between the processors and the main board and remove cold joints. The scope of work depends on the condition of the module.
We test operating stability, absence of restarts and current draw. After successful tests, we send the module back safely packaged.
A used unit from the market may have the same hardware fault. We refurbish your unit rather than replace it with another one.
You do not need to bring the vehicle in. Describe the problem and we will help you work out what to remove and send. After inspection, you will receive a quote for approval — only then will we start work.

A service absolutely worth recommending. After years of problems with the infotainment head unit in my Skoda Superb constantly freezing and resetting, the MIB was finally repaired. The radio from a Mercedes ML W164 2007 NTG2 BE 6089 had its fault diagnosed extremely quickly, and the repair was carried out just as fast.
Communication with Mr Tomasz was excellent, and updates from the workshop on the progress of the repair were sent promptly. This is definitely a workshop other people can learn from.

VW Touran radio, I sent it to the company because the reversing camera was not working and the radio would not turn on. Sent by courier. Diagnosis: no faults. (the fault needs to be looked for elsewhere) The radio was sent back quickly and the company did not charge anything, not even for the return postage. Definitely recommended. Very fast repair and very good, speedy communication. Information was available at every stage of the repair request process — an online repair management system. The unit (radio) was already meant to be written off and replaced with another used one. Fortunately, I accidentally found the OEMatic blog while looking for a replacement, and it saved me from replacing it with another used unit, which would have been a loss for the appearance (the fronts of the replacements I found were not in such good condition, and all of them were older than my unit from pre-facelift models); the newer ones were more expensive than the repair. So that’s a plus too.

For a long time I’d been battling an annoying problem in my VW Passat B8 — the car radio kept losing sound. Fortunately, I found OEMatic Car Media Lab and it was a perfect choice!

The Harman-Kardon amplifier in my BMW F33 was flooded, so I decided to hand it over to OEMatic. A quick check to see whether it could be saved — yes! it could! A few days later the amplifier was back with me after repair.
For a moment I also had doubts whether only the amplifier had been damaged by the flooding, because I lost the ability to set the time and information such as instant fuel consumption or average fuel consumption disappeared; after a phone call I was told that this can happen because of a break in the car’s CAN circuit due to the amplifier being absent.
The theory proved correct, and fitting the already repaired amplifier helped and all the functions returned.
I hope the amplifier will serve for a long time to come and without faults.

The content of the reviews I read quickly convinced me to have my unit repaired at OeMatic. I expected the highest quality of service at every stage and that is exactly what I received. After the phone call I received all the information needed for shipping by text message. As soon as the workshop received the parcel with the radio, I got a phone call, we agreed the details, I confirmed the price and the repair began. In the afternoon of the next day I was informed that the repair had been completed, I settled the bill and the radio was back with me after 4 days.
