Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifiers in Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245: enquiry, module shipment and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 model?

Yes – we repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier from the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245, but we only work on original factory units, not Android replacements. We assess and repair the removed module, not the car.

Is repair of the module in the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 model worthwhile instead of replacement?

We assess whether repair of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 module is worthwhile based on the descriptions and photos you send, as well as inspection of the removed unit. If the electronics of the original unit are damaged, repair may restore the factory functions.

How is the repair quote for the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 module prepared?

An initial quote for the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 model is possible after you send photos of the front and label, plus a description of the symptoms, before dispatch. We confirm the exact price after checking the removed module and will carry out the repair after your approval.

Do I need to come in with the car, or can I send the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 module?

You do not need to bring the car – send the removed module from anywhere in Poland or drop it off in person by appointment. Pack it as follows: protect the screen and connectors, use a rigid box, fill any empty space, and include any additional components separately.

What should I prepare before submitting the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 module?

When submitting the Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 module, provide the make, model and year, describe when the symptoms occur and whether they change as the unit warms up, and attach a photo of the front and the label. If the module has been replaced or shows signs of tampering, please mention it.

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in Mercedes-Benz B-Class W245 concerns the factory Mercedes-Benz NTG2 unit (Harman Becker).

What is the NTG2 unit?

It is the second-generation Comand system, which combines navigation, radio and disc playback. It communicates with the other audio modules via the MOST fibre-optic loop. The manufacturer, Harman Becker, and the part number are confirmed by the label on the casing.

What NTG2 faults do we repair?

Sticking on the logo looks like this: after the ignition is turned on, the Mercedes-Benz message appears and the startup process ends there, or the screen goes black after a moment. Other reported issues include restart loops, very slow response to commands, losing saved stations and settings after every start, and a battery that is flat by morning when the radio does not go to sleep after the ignition is switched off. We also repair drives that do not read discs.

What should be described in the enquiry?

Answers to three questions are useful:

  • what exactly is visible on the screen after the ignition is turned on, and for how long?
  • does the radio lose stations and settings, or restart by itself?
  • has the unit been replaced or does it show signs of being opened?

If only the panel buttons and knobs do not respond, while everything else works, mention it – this symptom may come from another module in the MOST loop rather than the unit itself. Attach a photo of the front and the label. After checking the removed unit, we confirm the scope of work and the price. We do not repair Android replacements.
