The factory Audi amplifier (Bose), used in the Q7 from 2006–2015. In the Q7 it is located in the boot, under the right rear side trim. The part number is on the sticker on the casing – you do not need to know it before contacting us, a photo of the sticker is enough.
MMI keeps resetting or there is no sound – is it the amplifier?
The Bose amplifier works on the fibre-optic MOST network together with MMI, so a fault does not just mean silence in the speakers. If MMI keeps rebooting in a loop or works but there is no sound, the cause may be the amplifier. Other symptoms include sound only from some speakers, loud crackling and hiss, and a constant current draw after the ignition is switched off, which drains the battery. Such faults appear after the amplifier has been flooded; the longer water remains on the board, the further the corrosion progresses.
How does the check work?
The removed amplifier is sent to our workshop. We check the sound on all channels, current draw after switch-off and communication over the MOST network. Before sending it, please provide a description of the symptom, a photo of the unit and the sticker, and the make, model and year of the car, and we will prepare an initial, indicative quote. We give the exact price after checking, and we start the repair only after your approval. If the amplifier has had contact with water, let us know straight away.
