Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of radio, navigation and amplifiers BMW 3 Series E90: enquiry, module shipment and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the BMW 3 Series E90?

Yes – as an independent OEMatic workshop we check and repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier from the BMW 3 Series E90 once we receive the removed module. We do not repair Android-type replacements; we identify them from the sticker.

Is it worth repairing a BMW 3 Series E90 instead of replacing it with a new or used unit?

Whether it is worth repairing the module from the BMW 3 Series E90 is assessed individually: based on photos and the description, we can provide an indicative quote before dispatch. After checking the removed module, we will confirm the exact cost, and we will carry out the repair after your approval.

What does the repair quote for the BMW 3 Series E90 look like?

The quote for a module from the BMW 3 Series E90 starts with an indicative assessment based on photos of the unit, the rating label, the make, model and a description of the symptom. After we receive and check the removed module, we will confirm the exact quote and wait for your approval before proceeding with the repair.

Do I need to bring the car in, or how do I send the module from the BMW 3 Series E90?

You do not need to bring the car in – you send us only the removed module from anywhere in Poland, or you can deliver it in person by appointment. When packing, protect the screen and connectors, use a rigid box, fill any empty spaces, and pack any additional items separately.

What should I prepare before submitting a module from the BMW 3 Series E90?

Before submitting, prepare the make, model and year of the BMW 3 Series E90, a detailed description of the symptoms, and a photo of the removed module and the rating label. If you do not know the radio model name, include photos – we will ask for the part number only if needed and advise which items to send.

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in BMW 3 Series E90 covers the factory BMW CD73 Professional (Alpine) radio in our workshop. We only need the removed radio unit for inspection.

BMW CD73 Professional radio in the E90 model

CD73 is a CD player radio manufactured by Alpine and used in BMW cars from around 2004–2013. The fault we repair in this unit is failure to power up and a black screen.

What does the fault look like?

The radio stops switching on from one day to the next. The display is blank, the power button and steering wheel controls do not work, and there is no sound from the speakers – including warning chimes and parking sensor (PDC) signals, as these sounds also pass through the radio. At the same time, the button backlighting is visible after dark, and the radio accepts and ejects the CD. The fault may be accompanied by the message “SOS call system failure” on the instrument cluster. This is a hardware fault: components on the main board are damaged.

Enquiry and radio assessment

Tell us what happens when the power button is pressed and attach a photo of the unit and the label with the part number. If the radio has been flooded or opened before, mention this in the description. You do not need to know the model name of the radio – we will ask for the part number if it is needed. Based on the photos and description, we provide an approximate quote, and the exact price after the radio has been checked; work starts after your approval. We do not repair Android units fitted instead of the factory radio.
