Repair of Bentley radios, navigation systems and amplifiers covers factory OEM modules, i.e. original manufacturer components that work together as one system. In one car, the problem may affect the main unit, display, tuner, navigation module or Naim amplifier, although the symptoms can be very similar. A black screen or silence from the speakers alone does not yet prove which module is actually faulty.

That is why it makes sense to separate the symptoms before replacing parts, because equipment compatibility and communication between modules matter. This page is about repairing original units, not Android replacements.

What symptoms may indicate a fault with a Bentley radio or navigation system?

Symptoms that may indicate a fault include sound, screen, radio or GPS guidance issues. In a system made up of several modules, the same symptom may come from the radio, navigation system, amplifier, interrupted communication between modules or a problem outside the unit itself. That is why it matters not only what is not working, but also whether the problem affects all functions, one source, or appears after some time. Signs of a fault may include:

  • a black screen despite the other functions working,
  • no sound from any speakers, or loss of individual channels,
  • the unit resetting or freezing after it warms up,
  • no reception of radio stations,
  • no GPS position or the navigation starting without maps,
  • the module not waking up after the ignition is switched on, or crackling in the audio.

Silence from the speakers does not yet mean a faulty amplifier Naim, because the cause may also be the module not waking up or interrupted communication. Likewise, no radio stations do not necessarily mean the tuner has failed if the problem lies in the aerial circuit. If after disconnecting the battery the unit asks for a code or remains locked, it is worth describing the exact message and the circumstances of the lockout so we can assess whether the issue concerns the module itself.

How is Bentley module diagnosis and repair carried out?

Diagnosis separates the problem into the module, communication and dependence on the vehicle’s wiring. When reporting the fault, it helps to say whether the sound disappears on all sources, whether the screen is black despite the radio working, or whether GPS loses position. Based on the description and photos, a free initial quote is prepared, and the unit is sent in after acceptance.

After the removed module is received, a bench check is carried out to confirm whether the fault lies in the unit’s electronics. If the symptom suggests a problem elsewhere, the result points to having the vehicle checked by a local mechanic or auto electrician. The confirmed cause and cost depend on the type of module, the symptom and the diagnostics required, and work begins after approval.

After repair, the module is tested before being returned and comes back with a written warranty, the period of which depends on the scope of the service. If you are considering replacing it with another module, compatibility should be established before making a decision, and whether coding or adaptation will be needed after fitting should be checked locally.

What should you prepare before sending the unit for repair?

Before sending it in, we need a short, as precise as possible description of the symptom and photos that help distinguish a module fault from a problem outside it. Simply saying “the radio does not work” is not enough, because a black screen is assessed differently from complete silence on all sources, and differently again from the loss of one channel in the Naim amplifier. It also helps to know whether the problem appears immediately after starting, only after warming up, or after disconnecting the battery. Such a description shortens the path to the correct classification of the unit:

  • the make, model and year of the vehicle,
  • a photo of the unit, the error screen or the identification label,
  • a description of whether the lack of sound affects all sources, all speakers or one channel,
  • information on whether the radio, navigation system or screen does not work, or whether the whole system starts with resets,
  • an indication of whether the symptom changes over time, after warming up or after disconnecting power,
  • a message saying whether the module has been previously replaced, opened or repaired.

If the problem concerns a lockout after disconnecting the battery, lost GPS position or no radio stations, describe the unit’s behaviour in detail rather than your own diagnosis. This makes it easier to assess whether the issue concerns the module itself and whether the lack of reception is due to a problem in the aerial circuit — that is, the signal path between the aerial and the unit. The more precise the description, the lower the risk of sending the wrong module.

When is it worth choosing repair, and when should you replace the module?

Repair makes sense when the symptom points to damage to the electronics of a specific module, rather than to a random parts swap. If the unit powers up or communicates with the system, it is possible to assess whether the problem concerns the power supply, memory, audio path, tuner or navigation section. This includes, among other things, silence in the speakers, resets, no radio reception or GPS location errors.

After inspection, it may turn out that repair is not economical or requires a separate decision; the cost is approved before work begins. If another module is being considered, the part number, system configuration and vehicle equipment compatibility all matter. Random replacement without confirming compatibility can turn one symptom into another, for example audio silence into a lockout or no communication.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of Bentley radios, navigation systems and amplifiers: enquiry, module shipping and quote.

Do you service Bentley factory audio and navigation?

Yes, we work on original OEM modules: the radio, navigation system, display, tuner and amplifier. We do not repair replacements fitted instead of factory units, such as Android radios.

Is it worth repairing a Bentley module instead of replacing it?

Repair allows you to keep the factory-fitted unit and maintain compatibility with the car’s equipment. You decide after an initial quote based on your description and photos, and any further work requires your approval after the module has been checked.

How do I get a repair quote for a Bentley unit?

Before sending it in, provide the car’s make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and photos of the unit and the rating label. On that basis we will prepare an estimated quote, and after checking the module we will confirm the scope of the repair.

How do I send a Bentley module to OEMatic?

The workshop receives the removed module, not the car. You can send it from anywhere in Poland; protect the screen and connectors, use a rigid box and fill any empty space.

What should I prepare before reporting a Bentley fault?

Prepare the car’s make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and a photo of the panel or unit and the rating label. If the problem concerns sound, we will establish before removal which parts should be sent.
