Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifiers in Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet: request, module shipment and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet?

Yes. We repair only the factory radio, navigation and amplifier from the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet model — we check the supplied removed module for electronic damage and do not repair Android replacements instead of the factory unit.

Is repair in the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet more worthwhile than replacement?

We provide an indicative quote and, after checking the supplied removed module, confirm the final cost and scope of work. You make the decision after receiving the quote and can compare it with replacement options.

How is the repair quote prepared for the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet?

An initial quote for the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet is prepared based on photos of the unit, the identification label and a description of the symptoms. After we receive the removed module, we check it and confirm the exact price and scope of work before the repair begins.

Do I need to bring the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet in, or can I send the removed module?

You do not need to bring the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet — just send the removed module from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person to the workshop by appointment. Protect the screen and connectors, and pack it in a rigid cardboard box.

What should I prepare before sending in a module from the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet?

Before sending it in, please provide the make, model, year, a description of the symptoms and photos of the panel and identification label. If you can, include a photo of the removed module; removal and refitting are carried out by the workshop.

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Beetle II Cabriolet covers the factory MIB STD2 PQ module, used in the Beetle on the PQ platform.

Which unit do we service in the Beetle II Cabriolet model?

In the Beetle II Cabriolet model, we repair the MIB STD2 PQ radio-navigation system (TechniSat / Preh). It is available in a version without navigation, with one SD card slot, and in a version with navigation and two SD card slots.

Symptoms of a faulty touch function

In the MIB STD2 PQ, we repair the touchscreen fault. Symptoms by which you can recognise it:

  • touch does not respond on parts of the screen or anywhere at all,
  • when entering an address, part of the keypad does not respond
  • the slider stops halfway across the screen, or the radio changes tracks and switches functions by itself.

The fault gets worse over time and may also affect the side buttons. After restarting the radio, the symptom disappears, but only for a while. The image on the screen remains correct.

Scope of repair and identification of the factory module

We check the removed unit: we confirm the touch fault and whether the display itself works correctly. We repair only factory units. We do not accept replacements fitted in their place, such as Android radio-navigation units.

A photo of the sticker with the part number, a photo of the front of the unit and a description of the symptom are useful in the enquiry. If the screen has deep scratches, bubbles or delamination, let us know – this affects the scope of repair.

We prepare an initial, approximate quote based on photos and the description before the module is sent; we confirm the exact price after checking the unit.
