Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of radio, navigation and amplifiers Volkswagen Touareg I: enquiry, module shipping and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier from the Volkswagen Touareg I?

Yes — we repair the factory amplifier used in the Volkswagen Touareg I, provided the unit is original and has a part-number sticker. We only check the supplied removed module, not the car.

Is repair in the Volkswagen Touareg I worth it instead of replacement?

We assess whether it is worthwhile after checking the removed module; we provide an initial quote based on photos and description before you send it. We confirm the final quote and scope of work after checking the removed unit; we do not repair replacements.

How is the repair quoted for the Volkswagen Touareg I?

Before sending it, give the make, model, year, description of the symptoms and photos of the front and label; on that basis we will send an initial quote. We give the exact price after checking the removed module; we will carry out the repair only after receiving your approval.

Do I need to bring the car in, or is it enough to send the module from the Volkswagen Touareg I?

You do not need to bring the car in — we handle jobs by post, and you can also deliver the module by appointment. Send only the removed module in a rigid box with packing material; protect the screen and connectors, and include any additional parts separately.

What should I prepare before submitting the module from the Volkswagen Touareg I?

When submitting it, give the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and include photos of the unit front and the label with the part number. Also tell us whether the amplifier has been repaired before; we do not accept replacements fitted instead of factory units.

Repair of the Volkswagen Touareg I radio, navigation and amplifier concerns the factory Dynaudio AMP600 amplifier.

Which unit do we service in the Touareg I model?

In the Touareg I we repair the factory Volkswagen AMP600 amplifier (Dynaudio). On the rating label, above the barcode, you will find AMP600 – this and the part number confirm that it is the correct unit.

First crackling, then silence

This is how an AMP600 amplifier fault develops. Symptoms you may notice:

  • sudden, random crackling in the speakers interrupting the music – at first the sound returns, but over time it goes completely silent,
  • a flat battery, because the faulty amplifier does not switch off completely and draws current when parked,
  • no communication: during computer diagnostics it is not possible to connect to the amplifier control unit.

Faults are caused by wear of electronic components and power supply problems, for example a weak battery or jump-starting the car from a booster.

Scope of repair and service acceptance conditions

You send in the amplifier only. We connect it to a test bench and check whether the fault lies in it. Before sending, provide the car make, model and year, describe the symptoms and include a photo of the unit and the sticker with the part number – we will prepare an initial, indicative quote.

Once the fault has been confirmed, we provide the price and wait for your approval. After repair, the amplifier is tested. We do not repair replacements fitted instead of factory units.
