What can a booster do when charging a battery with jumper leads? Unfortunately, your Scania radio.
In the Scania P Series (pre-NGS) we repair the factory radio, navigation unit and amplifier. There is no need to bring the vehicle in – only the removed module is sent to the workshop.
Fault description from the driver’s side
The driver sees how the unit behaves in everyday use, so their observations are valuable to us. Note whether the radio switches on, whether the screen shows anything, whether there is sound and whether the unit responds to the buttons. Also note whether the fault is constant or only occasional, and when it first appeared.
Module identification
Please attach a photo of the front and the sticker with the part number, and provide the vehicle model and year. From the sticker we confirm that it is factory equipment. We do not repair replacement units fitted instead of the original unit, including Android radio-navigation systems. If we do not have the part number needed for identification, we will ask for it. You do not need to know the name of the radio itself.
Cost known before repair
You will receive an estimated quote after sending photos and a description. We give the exact price after checking the module on the bench. We do not inspect the vehicle or its wiring. We only carry out the repair after your approval, and billing is by VAT invoice. For sound issues, when it is not clear whether the radio or the amplifier is at fault, we agree in advance what should be sent to us before removal.
Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of Scania P Series (pre-NGS) radios, navigation units and amplifiers: registration, module dispatch and quote.
How should the driver describe the radio fault?
It is enough to note whether the radio powers on, whether the screen shows anything, whether there is sound, and whether the unit responds to the buttons. It also helps to know whether the symptom is constant and when it first appeared.
Does the vehicle have to stay with you during the repair?
No. We accept only the removed module, so the vehicle stays with you. You arrange removal and refitting of the unit with a local workshop.
How do you charge for repairing a module from a Scania P Series (pre-NGS) model?
We quote the exact amount after checking the module, and carry out the repair once you have approved it. We issue a VAT invoice, and payment is by bank transfer before dispatch or cash on delivery.
Do you check the wiring in the vehicle?
No. We test the module itself on the bench and do not examine the vehicle or its wiring. In-vehicle measurements should be arranged with a workshop on site.
What should you do if the part number is not visible?
Send a photo of the front, state the vehicle model and year, and describe the fault. If we do not have enough information to identify the unit, we will ask for the part number.
