What does the LCN unit arrive with?
With a permanent code lock. The screen shows the message “Incorrect PIN entered too many times. System is now locked. Contact your Nissan dealer.” It appears after ten incorrect attempts to enter the PIN code.
What does this lock mean?
A locked unit no longer displays the keypad and accepts no code at all – not even the correct one, if you learn it afterwards. Disconnecting the power or waiting does not change anything. Along with the screen, you lose the radio, CD player, navigation and Bluetooth hands-free kit. The lock is a security feature, not a fault in the radio.
This situation can be caused by loss of power, for example when replacing the battery, after which the radio asks for a code and then attempts to guess it. If the unit is still asking for a PIN and you do not know it, do not enter random digits.
How should I prepare an enquiry?
Take a photo of the screen with the message and a photo of the front of the unit. After removing the radio, photograph the label on the housing – it shows the Bosch part number, which we use to confirm the version. Provide the make, model and year of the car. Based on the photos and description, we give an initial quote. We check the removed unit and confirm the lock, then present the price for approval. After the work is completed, we test the unit. We accept original units; we do not repair Android replacements.
