Our Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake X117 radio, navigation and amplifier repair service includes, among others, the NTG5.1 Audio 20 (Panasonic) unit used in CLA models from 2015–2019. We check it after removal from the car.

Black screen and fan noise

Customers describe faults in this unit in different ways, but they all have one thing in common: despite the dead screen, the fan can still be heard running. Such descriptions may point to a problem in the module:

• the unit used to switch on with a delay and then stopped switching on,
• the screen stays black all the time and the drive does not pull in the disc,
• when switched on, the logo appears, then it restarts and the cycle repeats
• there is no sound or picture, and the display in the instrument cluster shows only lines in the menu

We also repair a non-working keypad, disc eject button, CD mechanism and missing navigation function

With navigation or without?

Audio 20 comes in two versions, identified by the Model field on the device sticker: NTG5*1 CD or NTG5*1 BASE. BASE is the version without navigation, CD – with navigation. To submit a request, a photo of the sticker is enough; we will read the markings ourselves.

Module inspection and quote

Based on photos and a description of the fault, we prepare an initial indicative quote. After receiving the unit, we inspect it and confirm the exact price, and we start the repair after your approval. We deal only with factory modules – we do not repair Android replacements.
