Unlocking Nissan LCN radio (and Suzuki MC EU) – “System is now locked”
Is your locked Nissan LCN radio showing the “System is now locked” error? We will unlock it non-invasively (without soldering) in 1 working day. See how we do it.
Repair of Nissan radios, navigation and amplifiers concerns factory OEM units in which the screen, sound and controls are interconnected. This also applies to LCN versions such as Daewoo AGC-0071RF and AGC-0070RF, found among others in the Qashqai, Juke, Note, Navara and NV200. The same symptom on the screen does not yet mean the same cause, because display faults, memory faults, lock faults or audio path faults can look similar. That is why it makes sense to assess the specific unit, rather than guess from the message alone or the car model name.
What symptoms can indicate a fault in the radio, navigation or amplifier in Nissan cars?
A fault may show itself as silence, a black screen, restarts or a lock message. In Nissan, the radio, navigation and interface — that is, modules working together — are sometimes interconnected, so a fault in one block can look like a problem with the whole system. This is evident, for example, when the unit starts up but there is no sound, settings are not saved, or it freezes after the logo.
With LCN units such as AGC-0071RF and AGC-0070RF, the picture alone also does not settle the matter. If the screen disappears after warming up or loses contrast, the LCD section, backlight or connections may need checking, depending on the unit’s behaviour and the diagnostic result. Signs of a fault may include:
- no sound on all sources, even though the radio starts up,
- distorted sound, switching off after a short time or excessive heating of the unit,
- a black screen, a white image or loss of readability once warm,
- random restarts, freezing and no saving of settings after the power is switched off,
- the message “System is now locked” instead of normal system startup.
These symptoms do not yet prove that the unit itself is at fault. If the removed module works correctly on the bench, the installation, power supply, speakers or other modules in the car should be checked by a local mechanic or auto electrician.
How are Nissan audio units diagnosed and repaired?
Diagnosis starts with identifying the device and describing the symptom in detail. Without the unit number and a photo of the label, it is hard to distinguish between the memory, lock or display variant, especially on platforms used in the Qashqai and Juke. A free initial quote based on photos and a description is prepared after the enquiry has been analysed, and complete photos and a description make the initial assessment easier. The device is only sent after it has been accepted, and a description of whether audio, picture and settings storage work helps to classify the enquiry more accurately.
Once the parcel is received, the removed unit is checked, not the car. The extent of the confirmation of the cause and cost depends on the type of fault and the test possibilities of the given unit. Repair or unlocking only starts after the cost has been approved. Any limitations of testing outside the car are taken into account when assessing the device.
The scope of work depends on the cause and may include the power electronics, audio path, memory, connections or display section. In the case of the message “System is now locked”, no code is guessed. First, it is established what the lock is caused by and whether the correct data can be restored. Before being returned, the unit undergoes a test of basic functions, and the repair receives a written warranty depending on its scope. The service concerns factory OEM devices — that is, units fitted by the manufacturer — without Android replacements installed after purchase of the car.
What should you prepare before sending the radio for repair?
The enquiry needs details that make it possible to distinguish between a display, audio, memory or lock fault. The car name alone may not be enough, because depending on trim level, year and market, similar units have different configurations. For LCN versions, that is, this specific variant of the unit, the number from the label helps determine whether the problem concerns the electronics or the device data.
Prepare the information that shows what happens from switch-on to full system startup:
- the make, model and year of the vehicle,
- unit designation and a photo of the label,
- a photo of the error or symptom visible on the screen,
- information on whether the radio plays, only starts up, or does not start at all,
- a description of whether the lack of sound affects all sources,
- a description of the screen’s behaviour after warming up, after knocks or after disconnecting the battery,
- information on whether the unit has been opened, water-damaged or previously repaired.
When is it worth repairing, and when replacing a Nissan unit?
Whether repair or replacement is worthwhile is decided by the diagnostic result. Important factors may include the condition of the PCB, corrosion, mechanical damage, signs of previous interference and whether the problem concerns the power supply, memory, audio path, connections, display section or device data in the case of the message “System is now locked”.
When choosing a donor, a similar panel and the same button layout are not enough. The unit number, OEM configuration and stored data matter, because these determine startup and cooperation with the vehicle. If diagnostics confirm that the original can be repaired, you can avoid guessing compatibility of the replacement part.
Frequently asked questions and answers
Nissan radio, navigation and amplifier repair: enquiry, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair Nissan factory radios, navigation systems and amplifiers?
Yes, we service Nissan factory audio and navigation modules when the problem concerns image, sound, startup or control. We do not accept replacement units fitted instead of the original equipment.
Is it worth repairing a Nissan module rather than buying another one?
After you describe the symptoms and send photos, we will prepare an initial quote so you can compare repair with buying a new or used unit. You make the final decision after the module has been checked and the price confirmed.
How do I get a quote for Nissan radio or navigation repair?
Before sending it, please provide the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and photos of the unit and label. Based on this, we will give you an estimated quote, and we will confirm the exact price after checking the module.
Do I need to bring the Nissan in, or send the module?
You do not need to bring the car in, because we check the removed module delivered to OEMatic in Sochaczew. You can send it from anywhere in Poland; when packing, protect the screen and connectors.
What should I prepare before reporting a Nissan equipment repair?
Prepare the car make, model and year, a short description of the symptoms, and a photo of the panel or unit and the rating label. You do not need to know the radio name; if anything is missing, we will ask for an additional photo.
