Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in BMW 1 Series E88?

Yes – we repair factory radios, navigation units and amplifiers from BMW 1 Series E88 once we receive the removed module. We do not accept Android replacements; we assess the unit from the description and a photo of the part-number sticker and provide the scope of work.

Is it worth repairing the module rather than replacing it in BMW 1 Series E88?

How is the repair quote for the module in BMW 1 Series E88 worked out?

We provide an initial, approximate quote for the module from BMW 1 Series E88 based on photos of the unit, the part-number label and a description of the symptoms before dispatch. After checking the module, we confirm the price and scope of work; the repair starts after your approval.

What should I prepare before submitting a removed module from BMW 1 Series E88?

Before submitting, prepare a description of the symptoms, the make, model and year of the car, and a photo of the front of the unit and the part-number sticker for the removed module from BMW 1 Series E88. You do not need to know the radio name; after verifying the photos, we will provide an initial quote.

Repair of radio, navigation and amplifier in BMW 1 Series E88 in our workshop means repair of the factory BMW CD73 Professional (Alpine) radio – a unit used in BMW cars from around 2004–2013.

Why do the chimes disappear along with the radio?

The CD73 radio is not just for music. It also plays the car’s system sounds: warning chimes for unfastened seat belts or low fuel and parking sensor (PDC) signals. When the radio stops starting, everything goes quiet at once.

How can you tell it is a CD73 fault?

When the power button is pressed, the radio does not start and the display stays black. The unit still has power: the button backlighting comes on, and the CD mechanism accepts a disc and returns it when “Eject” is pressed, even though nothing appears on the screen. The message “SOS call system failure” may appear on the instrument cluster. The cause of the problem is damaged components on the radio’s main board, not software.

How should I prepare an enquiry?

Describe what you see after switching on the ignition: whether the screen is black, whether the buttons light up and whether you can hear the chimes. Attach a photo of the panel and the label on the metal casing with the part number – this is how we confirm that it is the factory radio, not an Android replacement, which we do not repair. We provide an initial quote based on photos and the description. After checking the removed radio, we confirm the price and scope of work, and carry out the repair after your approval.
