Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in the Mercedes-Benz GL X166 is quoted by us in two stages. Neither requires you to bring the car in, because we work on the factory module removed from the vehicle.
Stage one: initial assessment
It is prepared on the basis of what you send: the make, model and year of the car, a description of the symptoms, and photos of the unit and the identification label. It is approximate – it gives you a point of reference before you decide whether to remove the module. At this stage we also establish whether it is the radio, navigation or amplifier, and which component should be sent to us. You do not need to know the model name of the radio, and we will ask for the part number only if it is needed.
Stage two: price after checking the module
We confirm the exact price only once the unit is with us and has been checked. The decision then is yours:
- if you accept the price – we start the repair,
- if you have questions – we explain what we found in the module,
- if you do not accept it – we do not carry out the repair.
The repaired unit is function-tested before it is sent back.
What is not included in the assessment?
We assess only the module supplied. The condition of the power supply and wiring in the car remains outside our inspection, as does removing and refitting the unit – these tasks are arranged locally. We also do not quote for Android replacements fitted in place of the factory unit. The factory module is identified by the sticker with the part number, which is why we ask you to send a photo of it.
