Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of BMW 3 Series E92 radios, navigation units and amplifiers: enquiry, module shipment and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the BMW 3 Series E92?

Yes, we inspect and repair factory modules fitted in the BMW 3 Series E92, provided they are original and identifiable by the part number sticker. You send the removed module, not the car.

Is repairing a module in the BMW 3 Series E92 worth it instead of replacing it?

Repair can be an alternative to replacement – after checking the removed module, we will inform you of the possible repair options and wait for your approval before carrying out any work. We provide an initial quote based on photos and a description before shipment.

How is the repair quote for a module in the BMW 3 Series E92 worked out?

We provide an initial, indicative quote before shipment based on photos of the unit and a description of the symptoms. We confirm the exact price after checking the removed module, and only start the repair after your approval.

Do you need to bring the BMW 3 Series E92 in, or can the module be sent?

You do not need to bring the car in – you can send the removed module from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person to the workshop by prior arrangement. Pack it securely: protect the screen and connectors, use a rigid box and padding, and send any additional parts separately.

What should be prepared before submitting a module for repair in the BMW 3 Series E92?

When submitting, please provide the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and a photo of the removed module with the sticker visible; we will ask for the part number if needed.

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in the BMW 3 Series E92 includes inspection and repair of the factory BMW CD73 Professional (Alpine) radio.

How do you recognise the CD73 radio?

On the front panel you will find the word “Professional”, and on the label on the metal casing the manufacturer name, Alpine, and the part number. This radio was used in BMW cars from around 2004–2013.

Black screen with the backlight on

In the CD73 radio we repair a fault where the unit does not start at all. After pressing the “ON” button, the display remains blank and the radio does not respond to the panel buttons. Even so, the buttons are backlit, and the drive accepts a disc and ejects it – with no information on the display. The car goes quiet: there is no music, no chimes and no parking sensor (PDC) signals. The dashboard may show the message “SOS call system failure”. The cause is damaged components on the radio main board.

What affects the assessment of the radio?

The decision to repair is made after checking the removed unit. Its condition and completeness matter, so in your enquiry please state whether the radio has been flooded, opened or repaired. Attach a photo of the panel and the label with the part number – this confirms that it is the factory unit, not an Android radio-navigation unit fitted in its place, which we do not repair. We provide an initial quote based on photos and a description, and the exact price after checking the radio. Work begins after your approval.
