Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of radio, navigation and amplifiers Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212: request, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212?
Yes – we repair original factory multimedia modules for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212 identified by the part-number label. We do not repair replacements; we inspect the removed module you send in.
Is repair in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212 worth it instead of replacement?
You can judge whether it is worthwhile after our quote: based on photos we provide an estimated quote, and after inspecting the module we will present the exact price and scope of the repair. We carry out the work after your approval, and we only repair original modules.
What does the module repair quote in the Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212 look like?
Before shipping, we provide an initial quote based on photos and a description of the symptoms. After checking the removed module, we provide the exact quote and scope of work, and we start after your approval; payment by bank transfer or cash on delivery, VAT invoice issued.
How do I send a removed module from a Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212 to the workshop?
You do not need to bring the car in – send the removed module to the workshop or deliver it in person. Before sending, give the make, model, year and a description of the symptoms, plus a photo of the front and the label; pack the module so the screen and connectors are protected.
What should you prepare before submitting a service request for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212?
When submitting a request, send the make, model and year of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212, plus a description of the symptoms and a photo of the front with the label. You send only the removed module, not the car; we will ask for the part number if it is needed.
Repair of radio, navigation and amplifier Mercedes-Benz E-Class S212 covers the factory Mercedes-Benz Audio 50 APS infotainment unit (Harman Becker) from cars from around 2007–2016.
How can you tell if the Audio 50 APS navigation is faulty?
By the way it behaves on start-up. The unit resets cyclically: it shows the menu, switches off, then after a while turns on again and displays only the maker’s logo. In other cases it freezes on the Mercedes-Benz logo or does not respond either to turning the key or to manual switching on. Another fault is a request to unlock the anti-theft protection in a radio that has never been replaced.
Which version is it?
Audio 50 APS comes with a single CD/DVD drive or with a changer. The version and catalogue numbers are shown on the rating label on the right-hand side of the unit, visible once the unit has been removed. Harman Becker Audio 50 APS units do not have an SD card reader – this is an easy way to tell them apart from other systems.
What does the request and decision process look like?
Provide the car make, model and year, describe the fault and attach a photo of the front and the label with the part number. You do not need to know the system name. Based on the photos and description, we give an initial quote. After checking the removed unit, we present the exact price and scope of work, and we start the repair after your approval. We repair original modules identified by the label; we do not accept Android replacements.
