Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of radio, navigation and amplifiers Volkswagen Caddy IV: registration, module dispatch and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Caddy IV?
Yes — we repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier from the Volkswagen Caddy IV, provided it is the original module identified by the rating label. We repair only the removed module; replacement Android units are not supported.
Is it worth repairing the radio and navigation in the Volkswagen Caddy IV?
It is easier to judge whether repair is worthwhile after an initial assessment based on the photos, description and label you send before dispatch. We confirm the final quote and scope of repair after checking the removed module and with your approval.
How is the radio repair quote in the Volkswagen Caddy IV prepared?
We prepare an initial quote based on the photos, description and label before dispatch; the final price is given after checking the removed module. Payment by bank transfer before return dispatch or cash on delivery, and we issue a VAT invoice.
How do I send the removed radio module from the Volkswagen Caddy IV to the workshop?
Send only the removed module; we accept consignments from all over Poland, and personal delivery is possible by appointment. Pack it in a rigid cardboard box, protect the screen and connectors, fill any empty spaces, and place additional items separately.
What should I prepare before registering a module from the Volkswagen Caddy IV?
Before registering, provide the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and a photo of the removed module and the label. You do not need to know the radio name; we will ask for the part number if needed, and we will determine the scope of repair after checking the removed module.
Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Caddy IV covers the factory MIB STD2 PQ radio-navigation unit with a non-working touchscreen.
What unit do we service?
In the Volkswagen Caddy IV we repair the factory MIB STD2 PQ radio-navigation unit (TechniSat / Preh). The manufacturer – TechniSat or Preh – and the part number can be read from the label on the radio’s metal casing.
How do you recognise a touch fault?
With this unit, we deal with a damaged touch layer on the screen. The radio still displays the image, but it does not register touch correctly:
- the screen does not respond to touch across the whole surface or across part of it, for example on one side,
- the radio behaves as if someone were constantly pressing the screen in one place: it changes stations and switches screens on its own,
- over time, the physical buttons on the side of the screen also stop responding.
The symptom may disappear after resetting the radio and return after some time.
What do we check before repair?
After receiving the removed radio, we connect it to a test bench, confirm the touch fault and check whether the display itself works properly. Before that, based on the symptom description and photos, we prepare an initial, indicative quote – please include a photo of the front and the label, as well as the car make, model and year.
We do not repair units fitted in place of factory radio-navigation systems (e.g. Android replacements). We begin repair once the extent of the damage has been confirmed and with your approval.
