Frequently asked questions and answers
Audi A5 I radio, navigation and amplifier repair: enquiry, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in Audi A5 I?
Yes — at OEMatic we repair factory modules removed from Audi A5 I and delivered to our workshop. We do not repair aftermarket replacements fitted in place of the factory unit; we verify originality from the rating label sticker.
Is repairing Audi A5 I worth it instead of replacing it?
We assess whether a repair is worthwhile after checking the removed module and its condition; before sending it, you can receive an indicative quote based on photos. After receipt, we confirm the scope of repair and ask for your approval before starting work.
How is the repair quote for Audi A5 I calculated?
An initial quote for Audi A5 I is prepared on the basis of photos of the panel, the rating label sticker and a description of the symptoms before the removed module is sent. We confirm the exact price after checking the unit, and we only carry out the repair after your approval of the proposed scope.
Do I need to bring the car in, or can I send the module from Audi A5 I?
You do not need to bring the car in — you send the removed module from Audi A5 I to the workshop address from anywhere in Poland, or deliver it in person by appointment. Removal and refitting are done by the workshop; we check the removed module and ask for photos before shipping.
What should I prepare before submitting a module from Audi A5 I?
When submitting, prepare the car make, model and year, a description of the symptoms, and a photo of the front of the unit and the rating label sticker of the removed module. On this basis we will determine which modules we will check and ask for additional information before shipping.
Our Audi A5 I radio, navigation and amplifier repair service also covers the factory Bang & Olufsen amplifier – you send just the unit to us, without the car.
Which amplifier from the Audi A5 I do we repair?
The factory Audi Bang & Olufsen (Lear) amplifier, used in A5/S5 models from 2008–2017. This is a unit paired to a specific car and connected to the other modules by the fibre-optic MOST bus. You’ll find it in the boot on the right-hand side, fixed to a metal frame and hidden behind a plastic cover.
No sound from the speakers while the radio is working
This is the fault these amplifiers typically come in with: the sound disappears suddenly, the radio is on, and the display works without issue. In the second variant, the MMI display goes off together with the sound – it turns on briefly and then switches off. The damage may be caused by a short circuit after a voltage spike or by moisture in the boot, which leads to corrosion in the electronics.
To make our assessment easier, please answer three questions in your enquiry:
- did the sound disappear suddenly while driving,
- what does the MMI display show at that time,
- whether there was water or moisture in the boot.
Estimate and repair decision
Based on the description and photos of the amplifier and the label with the part number, we will prepare an initial, estimated quote; please also provide the make, model and year of the car. After we receive the unit, we test it and confirm the exact price, and we only start work after your approval. We repair only factory modules, identified by the label with the part number.
