Frequently asked questions and answers

Audi A4 B8 radio, navigation and amplifier repair: submitting, posting the module and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Audi A4 B8?

Yes, we repair the factory radio, navigation and factory amplifier from the Audi A4 B8. You need to send the removed module to our workshop; we confirm originality by the part number label.

Is it worth repairing an Audi A4 B8 instead of replacing it with a new or used one?

We assess whether a repair is worthwhile after you send photos and a description of the symptoms; on that basis, we will prepare an initial, estimated quote before you send the unit. We confirm the exact price only after checking the delivered removed module.

How is the repair quote for a module in the Audi A4 B8 prepared?

The initial quote is indicative and we prepare it based on the photos and symptom description sent before the module is posted. We give the exact price after checking the delivered removed module; we carry out the repair after your approval.

Do you need to bring the Audi A4 B8 to the workshop, or is it enough to send the removed module?

There is no need to come with the car — you send us the removed module from anywhere in Poland, or you can deliver it in person by appointment. Before posting, protect the screen and connectors, pack it in a rigid box and fill any empty spaces.

What should be prepared before submitting an Audi A4 B8 module?

Before submitting, prepare the make, model and year of the Audi A4 B8, a description of the symptoms after start-up, and a photo of the front of the unit and the rating label with the part number. Please state whether the module has been flooded or repaired; we will check originality by the label, and we do not repair replacements.

Our Audi A4 B8 radio, navigation and amplifier repair service covers the factory Bang & Olufsen amplifier, which we check after removal from the car.

Bang & Olufsen amplifier in the Audi A4 B8

We repair the factory Audi Bang & Olufsen (Lear) amplifier, used in A4/S4 models from 2008–2012 and in the A4 allroad from 2010–2016. It was made by Lear to Bang & Olufsen's order. The amplifier is fitted on the right-hand side of the boot, under a plastic cover, and communicates with the rest of the system via the fibre-optic MOST bus.

How does a faulty amplifier behave?

We repair two types of fault in Lear amplifiers. The first is a sudden loss of sound: the music stops while driving, although the radio stays on and the display works. The second is no sound combined with the MMI display switching off, turning on briefly and then going out. The cause may be a short circuit after a voltage spike or dampness – moisture in the boot affects the electronics and leads to PCB corrosion. If the amplifier has been in contact with water, mention this in your enquiry.

What do we check and how do we quote the repair?

Only the amplifier is sent to the workshop. We check its operation, current draw and communication over the MOST bus, and only then provide the price. You can get an initial, estimated quote earlier – based on the description of the fault and photos of the unit and the label with the part number. Please also provide the make, model and year of the car. We start the repair after your approval, and we test the amplifier before sending it back. We deal only with factory units.
