Hyundai / Kia LAN6200 radio repair – Touchscreen not working? Is it not the display’s fault?
Imagine this scenario: the touchscreen in your Hyundai or Kia stops responding. Sound familiar?
No sound from the Kia/Hyundai AMP-80SLE / AMP-80RPE amplifier? We know the solution!
No sound, a loud bang or random crackling in the speakers? If your car uses an AMP-80 series amplifier, whether it is AMP-80SLE (e.g. 963703W300, 963703U700,…
Hyundai i20 navigation repair (LAN5202EHGB) – black screen
You get into your Hyundai i20 and start the engine. You can hear the radio start up, maybe even your favourite station is playing, but the screen stays completely black. You try touching the display, press the “MAP” buttons…
Radio repair for Hyundai covers factory audio units, navigation systems and external amplifiers linked to the vehicle’s installation. This category includes, among others, LAN6200, LAN5202EHGB and the AMP-80SLE and AMP-80RPE amplifiers. A non-working touchscreen, black screen or no sound do not yet point to a single faulty module. The same symptom may be caused by the panel, power supply, audio path, memory — that is, the part that stores the data or software needed for the unit to operate — or the software itself. That is why, before deciding on replacement, it is necessary to determine whether the problem concerns the unit’s electronics, compatibility with the car, or the need to fit a compatible module.
How to recognise faults in Hyundai radios and navigation systems?
A fault can be recognised by what disappears during operation: picture, touch, sound or correct system start-up. If the image in the LAN6200 is correct but the screen does not respond, the problem may concern the touch panel, ribbon cable or touch control. If the radio is audible in the LAN5202EHGB but the screen remains black, the direction of diagnosis depends on whether the backlight works, whether the logo appears and whether the unit responds to commands; the problem may then concern the image section or system start-up. No sound with the screen working does not prove the radio is at fault either, because a separate amplifier may be operating in the car.
The moment the symptom occurs is also important. If the problem appears after heating up, after disconnecting the battery or after dampness, this narrows down the diagnosis. The following may indicate a fault:
- the unit stops on the logo or loops the restart,
- the backlight works, but there is no image,
- there is an image, but the touch does not respond or responds incorrectly,
- the radio starts, but there is no sound despite the settings being correct,
- crackling or a loud bang in the speakers occurs at start-up,
- the problem is constant or only appears after the unit warms up.
Diagnostics and repair process for Hyundai units
The process starts with identifying which module is actually responsible for the symptom. To identify it accurately, the label number, the unit version and information on whether the car has a separate amplifier are helpful. This makes it possible to distinguish a fault in the main unit from a problem in the interaction between several modules.
The removed unit is inspected, and the diagnosis concerns the operation of the removed unit outside the vehicle. If the module works correctly outside the vehicle, the car’s wiring should be checked by a local auto electrician or mechanic. A free initial quote is prepared based on the photos and description, and the time needed to prepare it depends on how complete the enquiry is, the clarity of the photos and whether it is possible to identify the correct module in advance. Once the parcel has been received, an expert assessment is carried out and work begins after the cost is approved; the unit is tested before being sent back, and after the repair the customer receives a written warranty depending on the scope of the service performed.
We accept factory OEM units, not Android replacements. If component-level repair is not the solution, at the quote stage it must be determined whether the problem concerns the unit’s electronics, compatibility with the car, or the need to fit a compatible module.
What should you prepare before sending the unit for repair?
For the request, prepare the vehicle details, the unit number and a brief description of the symptom in the order in which it occurs. This makes it possible to distinguish between a screen, main unit and separate amplifier problem before deciding what should be sent for inspection. If you are not sure whether the panel, radio or amplifier is to blame, make that clear straight away.
The description should show what works and what disappears after start-up, and whether the symptom appears all the time or only after warming up. Before sending the unit, prepare:
- the make, model and year of the vehicle,
- part number from the unit label,
- a photo of the label, screen or error message,
- a step-by-step description of the symptom, from start-up to the moment the problem occurs,
- information on whether the vehicle has a separate amplifier,
- an indication of whether the radio, backlight, touch, sound and reversing camera work,
- information about battery disconnection, jump-starting or dampness.
Do not peel the screen apart or force additional resets when the system freezes. Such attempts can alter the picture of the fault and make it harder to assess whether the problem concerns the hardware or the memory.
When is Hyundai radio repair a better solution than replacement?
Repair is often the better solution when the damage concerns one section of the unit and the rest of the system remains compatible with the vehicle. This is especially important when you need to preserve compatibility with the steering wheel buttons, camera, microphone or separate amplifier. In the case of a local fault, there is then no need to look for another module with an identical configuration.
Replacement has to be considered in the case of extensive corrosion, damage to the board, missing mechanical parts or incomplete electronics. Matching panel dimensions alone does not confirm that the module is compatible with the vehicle’s installation. Before buying a replacement, it is worth checking the part number, hardware version — that is, the electronics variant — connector type and vehicle equipment.
When the unit stalls at start-up or appears to be locked, replacement does not always solve the problem. First you need to confirm whether the cause is power resets or damaged memory. Only then do you know whether repair, restoring correct start-up or selecting a compatible module is needed.
Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of Hyundai radios, navigation systems and amplifiers: request, module dispatch and quote.
Do you repair factory Hyundai radios, navigation units and amplifiers?
Yes, we deal with factory radios, navigation units and external amplifiers from Hyundai cars. We do not repair replacements fitted instead of factory units; factory originality is confirmed by the manufacturer’s label.
Does repairing Hyundai audio make sense instead of replacing it?
Repair lets you keep the factory unit matched to the car, without having to look for a compatible new or used module. After checking it, we provide the exact price and start the repair only after your approval.
How is the quote for Hyundai device repair prepared?
Before sending it, we prepare an initial, indicative quote based on photos and a description of the symptoms. We confirm the exact price after checking the delivered module, before the repair starts.
How do you deliver a module from a Hyundai car to us?
You send only the removed module, not the car; we carry out repairs by post from all over Poland. You can also deliver the device to the Sochaczew workshop in person, by prior arrangement.
What should you prepare before submitting a Hyundai repair request?
Please prepare the car model and year, a description of the symptoms, and photos of the unit, the panel and the rating label. You do not need to know the radio name; we will ask for any additional details if needed.
