The repair of Fiat Punto II radio, navigation and amplifier has two points where we give a price, and one where the decision is yours. This applies to every factory module from this car.
Initial quote – before you remove the module
We prepare the first, approximate estimate based on the description and photos. Please give the model year so we can distinguish the Punto II (188) from other generations, and describe the symptoms. Include a photo of the unit or front panel and the label with the part number. The radio model name is not needed.
Exact price – after checking the unit
We check the removed module in the workshop. Only then do we know what needs repairing, so only then do we confirm the exact price. The check covers the unit itself; power supply and wiring in the car are outside our scope.
Your approval and what determines whether the repair makes sense
We start the repair after your approval. Before that happens, we establish three things:
- whether the module is factory fitted – we do not repair replacements, for example Android radio-navigation units,
- whether the fault described in the enquiry is confirmed on the unit supplied,
- whether a second component is needed for assessment, for example an amplifier in the case of sound problems.
We agree which items are to be sent to us before dismantling, so that nothing is removed from the Punto unnecessarily.
Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of Fiat Punto II radio, navigation and amplifiers: enquiry, module shipping and quote.
How many stages does the repair quote for a Fiat Punto II radio have?
Two: first we give an initial, approximate estimate based on photos and a description, then after checking the removed unit we confirm the exact price. We only start the repair after your approval.
Why give the Punto model year when submitting an enquiry?
The model year lets us identify the generation of the car, and together with the fault description and a photo of the nameplate label it gives us the basis for an initial quote. You do not need to know the radio model name.
Is it worth repairing the factory radio from a Punto?
The answer depends on what the unit check shows, so we do not give it in advance. After the module is checked, you get the exact price and decide for yourself whether to order the repair.
Do you also check the speakers and wiring in the Punto?
No, we only check the supplied module. The speakers, wiring and power supply in the car can be checked by a local workshop with access to the vehicle.
When do you need to send the amplifier with the Punto radio?
If the problem is with the sound and it is not clear which module is responsible, we may ask for both units. We agree this with you before removal, so nothing is taken out unnecessarily.
