For the Fiat Ducato III, our repairs for the radio, navigation and amplifier include, among others, two factory units: the VP2 (Continental) radio in the 250 variant from cars built between 2014 and 2021, and the MY250 (Daiichi) radio fitted from 2020 onwards. Each one arrives for a different reason.

VP2 (Continental): logo on the screen and reboots

The following may indicate damage to this radio:

  • stopping on the startup screen with the logo – the screen lights up, the buttons and touch do not respond, only the volume knob works,
  • repeated reboots: menu, black screen, logo, and back again,
  • no screen backlight despite a response to the buttons being audible,
  • frozen image from the reversing camera,
  • no sound from the speakers while the screen is working.

The cause is often the NAND flash memory, where damaged sectors appear; disconnecting the battery does not remove this. We connect the radio to a bench that simulates signals from the car and check whether the symptoms recur.

MY250 (Daiichi): WRONG PASSWORD message

After several failed attempts to enter the code, the Daiichi radio activates the anti-theft lock and displays WRONG PASSWORD with a minute counter until the next attempt. This is a security feature, not a fault. The lock is stored in the radio’s memory, so a code generator will not remove it – a removed unit is required.

How to identify which radio you have in the Ducato

The label on the casing decides it. On the VP2 you will find the Continental Automotive name, the VP2 model and the variant number. On the MY250 you will see the DAIICHI Infotainment Systems and MOPAR logos. A photo of the label, the car’s year and a description of the symptom are enough for an initial quote; we confirm the exact price after checking the radio, and we begin the repair after your approval.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Repairs for Fiat Ducato III radios, navigation units and amplifiers: enquiry, module posting and quote.

Fiat Ducato III radio gets stuck on the logo. Will disconnecting the battery help?

No. If the Continental radio has damaged NAND flash memory, a power reset changes nothing and the radio still freezes. We test such a unit once it has been removed, on a bench that simulates the signals from the vehicle.

On the screen I can see WRONG PASSWORD and a minute counter. Should I wait?

The counter in the Daiichi radio does not go down, because the radio freezes on this message, so waiting does not help. The lock is stored in the unit’s memory and requires work on the removed radio.

Will an online code generator remove the lock from a Daiichi radio?

No. A generator calculates the code from the serial number, but a locked radio will not accept any code, even the correct one. The lock and the counter of failed attempts are stored in the radio’s memory, which online tools cannot access.

How do I know whether my Ducato has a Continental or Daiichi radio?

Check the label on the radio casing: one says Continental Automotive, the other has the DAIICHI Infotainment Systems and MOPAR logos. If you are unsure, send us a photo of the label together with the car’s year.

The reversing camera in the Ducato shows a frozen image. Is the radio at fault?

A frozen reversing camera image is one of the symptoms that may point to a faulty Continental radio. In your enquiry, describe how the image behaves and whether the radio resets, and after checking the module we will confirm the scope of the repair.
