In the Jeep Liberty II, we service factory audio equipment once it has been removed from the car. Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in the Jeep Liberty II includes, among other things, the RHW navigation radio (Harman Becker).

RHW navigation does not start – disk or main board?

When, after pressing the NAV button, the RHW radio asks to install the navigation database, the maps are unavailable to it. The cause may be a faulty hard drive with the maps, a software error or an electronics fault on the main board. In the repair we described, the hard drive power supply circuit on the main board had failed, so the radio did not detect the drive.

What can you check before sending it in?

The RHW radio has a service menu with a VERSIONS tab. Pay attention to three things there:

  • whether the HDD Model field contains data,
  • whether the HDD Firmware field contains data,
  • whether a message appears saying that the navigation database is unavailable.

Blank fields mean that the radio does not detect the drive. You do not need to check this yourself – for the submission, a description of the fault and a photo of the screen with the message are enough.

Submitting a module from a Jeep Liberty II

Please give the model year of the car and attach a photo of the front of the radio: the RHW marking is visible in the lower right corner of the panel, next to the AUX socket. Based on the photos and description, we will prepare an initial, indicative quote. After receiving the module, we check it, confirm the exact price and wait for your decision. We do not repair Android replacements fitted instead of the factory radio.

Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of radios, navigation units and amplifiers in Jeep Liberty II: submission, module shipping and quote.

Does a missing navigation database in the RHW radio in the Jeep Liberty II mean the hard drive is faulty?

Not necessarily. Such a message may result from damage to the hard drive, a software fault, or an electronics problem on the main board. We determine the cause after checking the removed radio.

Where can I check whether I have an RHW radio in the Jeep Liberty II?

The RHW designation is located in the lower right corner of the radio's front panel, next to the AUX socket. If you are not sure, send a photo of the front of the unit together with a description of the symptom.

Do I need to enter the service menu before submitting a Jeep Liberty II radio?

No, you do not. Information from the VERSIONS tab helps with the initial assessment, but for submission all we need is a description of the symptom, the car's year and photos of the unit. We check the rest in the removed module.

In the Jeep Liberty II, do you also repair the radio, not only the navigation?

Yes. We deal with the factory radio, navigation and amplifier once they have been removed from the car. Which unit to send is determined from the symptom description before removal.

Who removes the radio from a Jeep Liberty II before repair?

Removal and refitting of the unit is handled by a local workshop. We receive only the module, which you send by courier or bring in after arranging an appointment in advance.
