Radio, navigation and amplifier repair for Jeep Compass II covers factory modules sent to us after removal from the car. In this model we service, among others, the VP2 (Continental) radio-navigation unit, and the symptoms described below apply to it.
A Jeep logo on the screen and no response – VP2 radio symptoms
Compass owners describe this fault in a similar way: after switching on, the Jeep logo appears, the screen lights up, but the buttons and touch do not respond, and only the volume knob works. Another variant is spontaneous restarts, which also drop the Bluetooth connection. The following can also point to a fault in the VP2 module:
- screen backlight missing, although the radio plays and responds to the buttons,
- frozen image from the reversing camera,
- no sound from the speakers while the screen and navigation are working.
What won’t disconnecting the battery fix?
If the hanging is caused by damaged memory in the unit, a power reset changes nothing – the radio still freezes on the logo or restarts. A similar symptom can also be caused by unstable power supply in the car, moisture in the module, or an update interrupted halfway through. That is why you should state in your request what came before the fault.
How do we check a module from the Compass II?
We connect the removed radio to a test bench that simulates signals from the car and check whether the described symptoms repeat. Then we present a repair proposal and wait for your approval. The device model is confirmed by the sticker on the top of the casing with the VP2 designation and variant number. We do not repair Android replacements.

The radio in the Jeep Compass II stops on the logo — can it be repaired?
Stopping on the logo may indicate an internal fault in the factory radio. Once we receive the removed module, we connect it to the test bench and check whether the fault repeats, then we propose a repair scope.
Will disconnecting the battery help with radio restarts in the Jeep Compass II?
If the cause is damaged memory in the unit, a power reset will not help and the radio will keep restarting. In that case, the removed module needs to be checked at the workshop.
What should you include in a repair request for a Jeep Compass II radio?
Give the car’s year, describe the fault and say what came before it, for example an interrupted update or moisture ingress. Include a photo of the front of the radio and the sticker from the top of the casing.
What happens if the Jeep Compass II radio works properly on our bench?
We will let you know after inspection. We assess only the supplied module, so if the fault does not repeat on the test bench, the vehicle’s power supply should be checked by a local workshop.
Do you repair an Android radio fitted in place of the factory unit in the Jeep Compass II?
No. We deal with factory-fitted units, identified by the sticker with the part number. We do not repair Android replacements fitted in place of the original unit.
