Frequently asked questions and answers

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifiers in Kia Sportage IV: booking, sending the module and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in Kia Sportage IV?

Yes – we repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier from the Kia Sportage IV after receiving the removed module and an initial assessment of the photos and description of the symptoms. We confirm it is a factory unit from the label with the logo and number; we do not repair Android replacements.

Is it worth repairing the radio or amplifier in Kia Sportage IV rather than replacing it?

Whether it is worthwhile to repair the radio or amplifier in a Kia Sportage IV is determined after checking the supplied removed module and assessing the condition of the electronics and the completeness of the unit. The estimate is indicative based on photos; the final price is given after checking the module.

How is the repair quote for a Kia Sportage IV radio or navigation unit prepared?

Based on photos of the unit, a description of the symptoms and the make and year of the car, we prepare an initial quote before the module is sent. After inspection, we give the final price and carry out the repair after your approval; payment by bank transfer or cash on delivery.

How do I send the removed module from a Kia Sportage IV for repair?

Send only the removed module from the Kia Sportage IV – not the car – from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person by prior arrangement. Protect the screen and connectors, place it in a rigid cardboard box with padding, and pack any additional parts separately.

What should I prepare before registering a module from a Kia Sportage IV?

When registering a Kia Sportage IV module, provide the make, model and year, plus a description of the fault and when the problem started. Attach photos of the front and the label with the part number, and mention any signs of water damage, corrosion or other damage.

Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in Kia Sportage IV concerns the factory Kia IA88613QLNG radio-navigation system (LG / Hyundai Mobis), fitted in model years 2016–2021.

Symptom: USB does not work

We repair the USB port fault in this radio-navigation unit. You can recognise it by the fact that:

  • the radio does not respond when a phone is connected, and the phone does not charge,
  • a music USB flash drive is not detected,
  • Android Auto and Apple CarPlay do not start.

The other functions work: Bluetooth connects to the phone, the radio receives stations, and the screen responds to touch.

What causes this fault?

The cause is liquid spilled onto the main board, for example coffee or another drink. The USB port is located low down in the centre console, and spilled liquid runs into the radio and settles around the USB control circuit. Corrosion destroys the tracks and components there. That is why replacing the cable or the socket in the console alone does not restore USB operation.

What do we check and what should you include in the request?

Check the metal casing of the radio around the label. Dark streaks and stains on the metal are a sign that liquid has got inside – mention them in your request and attach a photo of the label with the part number. Also provide the car make, model and year. We inspect the removed radio-navigation unit and assess how extensive the corrosion is; the scope of work depends on this. We confirm the price after inspection, and carry out the repair once you approve it. We do not repair Android replacements fitted instead of the factory unit.
