Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of Hyundai i40 I radio, navigation and amplifiers: submission, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in Hyundai i40 I?
Yes – OEMatic repairs factory radio, navigation and amplifier modules in the Hyundai i40 I model; we do not repair Android replacements. We identify the original unit by the sticker, and the customer sends the removed module to the workshop.
Is repairing worth it instead of replacing it in the Hyundai i40 I model?
Whether it is worth repairing the module in the Hyundai i40 I model depends on the condition of the unit – before sending it, you will receive an estimated quote based on photos and a description. After inspecting the module, we confirm the exact price and carry out the repair only with your consent.
How is the repair quote for a module in the Hyundai i40 I model prepared?
Before sending it, please provide the make, model, year, a description of the symptoms, and a photo of the module and the sticker; based on this, we will give you an estimated quote. We confirm the exact price after checking the unit in the workshop and proceed with the repair after your approval.
Do you need to bring the car in, or can the Hyundai i40 I module be sent?
You do not need to bring the car in – send the removed module from anywhere in Poland or deliver it in person by prior arrangement. Removal and refitting should be done by a workshop; pack the module in a rigid cardboard box and protect the screen and connectors.
What should be prepared before submitting a Hyundai i40 I module?
When submitting a Hyundai i40 I module, send the make, model, year, a description of the symptoms and a photo of the unit or panel with the rating sticker; you do not need to know the radio name. If it is not clear whether the lack of sound is caused by the radio or the amplifier, we may ask for both modules.
Repair of Hyundai i40 I radio, navigation and amplifier covers two factory units: the Kia / Hyundai AMP-80 amplifier (Hyundai Mobis) and the Kia / Hyundai LAN6200 navigation radio (LG).
AMP-80 amplifier – no sound despite the radio working
AMP-80 was used in cars from around 2010–2018. Signs of failure include no sound from all speakers when the radio turns on and the navigation works. Other symptoms are crackling in the speakers even with the radio off, a loud bang when the ignition is switched off, sound disappearing after a moment, a blown fuse and a battery draining while parked. The faults are caused by moisture or a voltage spike after jump-starting the car.
LAN6200 – screen does not respond to touch
LAN6200 is a touch-screen unit from around 2014–2020. We repair cases where there is no touch response: the image is displayed, but the screen does not accept commands. The fault is permanent, regardless of temperature and operating time. If replacing the screen did not help, the cause lies in the connections on the main board.
Which module should be checked?
Describe what is not working: sound or touch. Attach a photo of the unit and the sticker with the part number – from that we confirm it is a factory module, not an Android replacement. In the amplifier, please note whether it has been flooded or opened. We inspect the removed module, then present the scope of work and the price, and carry out the repair after your approval. Before sending it back, we test the unit’s operation.
