Frequently asked questions and answers
Repair of radios, navigation units and amplifiers for Volkswagen Golf V: booking, module shipping and quote.
Do you repair the factory radio, navigation unit and amplifier in the Volkswagen Golf V?
Yes, we repair the factory radio, navigation unit and amplifier from the Volkswagen Golf V. We check the removed device, which you send to the workshop from anywhere in Poland or deliver in person by appointment.
Is it worth repairing a Volkswagen Golf V unit rather than replacing it?
We assess whether repair of a Volkswagen Golf V module is worthwhile based on the description, photos and condition of the module supplied; before shipping you will receive an indicative quote. We confirm the exact decision and price after checking the device, and the repair is carried out after your approval.
How is the quote for the Volkswagen Golf V prepared?
An initial quote for the Volkswagen Golf V is based on the photos and symptom description you send before the module is shipped. We confirm the exact price after checking the removed device you have supplied.
Do I need to come in with the Volkswagen Golf V, or send the removed module?
You do not need to bring the car in — you send the removed module or deliver it by appointment. Protect the screen and connectors, place the module in a rigid box, fill the empty spaces and pack any additional items separately.
What should I prepare before submitting a module from the Volkswagen Golf V?
Before submitting, provide the make, model and year, describe the module’s behaviour when switched on, and attach a photo of the front and the label. You do not need to know the radio model name — we will ask for the part number if needed.
Repair of the radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Golf V model covers checking and removing faults in the factory RNS510 radio-navigation unit.
What unit do we service in the Volkswagen Golf V model?
In the Golf V we repair the factory RNS510 radio-navigation unit (Continental). We service the removed module only, not the car. If you are not sure whether it is an RNS510, just send a photo of the front panel – we will identify the model.
What symptoms indicate that the problem may be in the module?
We repair two groups of faults in the RNS510. The first results from a power supply failure: sudden pops in the speakers, low and loud knocking or a deep humming bass, the radio gets stuck in a reset loop, and the battery goes flat when parked. The second is no communication via the CAN bus: the navigation does not switch off after the key is removed, the buttons do not light up, it does not respond to steering wheel controls and cannot be connected to a diagnostic interface.
What determines the scope of the repair and what should you include in the enquiry?
An initial indicative quote is prepared based on the description of the symptoms and photos. Please include the following information in your enquiry:
- car make, model and year,
- description of the unit’s behaviour after switching on the ignition and after locking the car,
- photo of the front and of the label with the part number.
We repair only factory units identifiable by the part-number label; we do not undertake repairs of replacements fitted in place of the original units. We confirm the exact price after checking the module, and we start work only after your approval. After the repair we check operating stability, sound and quiescent current draw.
