Frequently asked questions and answers

Radio, navigation and amplifier repair Volkswagen Passat B6: enquiry, module shipment and quote.

Do you repair the factory radio, navigation and amplifier in the Volkswagen Passat B6?

Yes, we repair the factory, original units removed from the Volkswagen Passat B6; we do not service replacements with non-factory systems. Once we receive the removed module, we will check its condition and outline the possible repair scope.

Is repair worthwhile instead of replacement in the Volkswagen Passat B6?

We can assess whether it is worthwhile after checking the module; before dispatch, we give an initial quote based on photos and the description. Once we receive the removed module, we will confirm the scope and the final price, and we will carry out the repair only after your approval.

How is the repair quote for the Volkswagen Passat B6 prepared?

An initial quote is possible based on photos of the unit, the sticker and a description of the symptoms before dispatch. Once we receive the removed module, we will check it and confirm the extent of the damage and the final quote, which we will send before the repair starts.

Do I need to bring the module in person from the Volkswagen Passat B6, or can it be sent?

You do not need to come by car; we accept shipments from all over Poland and you can deliver the module in person by appointment. Send only the removed module, protect the screen and connectors, place it in a rigid cardboard box and pack any additional parts separately.

What should I prepare before submitting a module from the Volkswagen Passat B6?

When submitting, provide the car make, model and year, a detailed description of the symptoms, and attach photos of the removed module or panel and the rating label. You do not need to know the radio model name; we will only ask for the part number if it is needed.

Radio and navigation repair Volkswagen Passat B6 covers the factory RNS510 navigation radio – with a power fault, resets or no CAN communication.

What unit do we service in the Passat B6 model?

In the Passat B6 we repair the factory RNS510 navigation radio (Continental), produced roughly between 2008 and 2016. We accept every version of this unit; the part number can be found on the sticker on the top or side of the casing.

How can you tell that the problem lies with the RNS510?

Look out for the following symptoms:

  • regular, loud clicking or low-frequency humming in the speakers, even after the ignition is switched off,
  • the welcome logo appears, then the screen goes black, and the same cycle starts again,
  • the battery is flat in the morning because the unit does not switch off after the car is locked,
  • no CAN communication: the radio does not switch off when the key is removed, steering wheel controls do not work, and the navigation position is missing on the MFD display.

Pops in the speakers are not caused by the power amplifier – they originate from the power supply section on the RNS510 main board.

What do we check and how do we quote the repair?

Once we receive the removed unit, we check how it behaves on start-up, whether crackling appears in the audio and how much current it draws at rest. Before sending it in, describe the symptom, provide the car make, model and year, and attach a photo of the unit and the sticker – on that basis we will prepare an initial, indicative quote. We confirm the exact price after checking, and start the repair after your approval. We do not repair replacements with systems other than the factory one.
